Always thought it was a strange one not signing him. Didn Thirn say 'we were prepared to offer Peter a deal, but then decided he wasn't what we wanted' or something along those lines?

Yep, we were going to offer him a bag of buttons, but Thorn ate them and the deal then fell through.

I liked the look of him, and was surprised when he was released from trial. I suspect it was down to money.

Yeah my thoughts are on not having enough money.

How ironic would it be if he gets a contract and becomes a prolific goal scorer for Leeds.

Bloody typical. All the searching for a striker and we had a good one under trial. What next, Bruno signs for Stoke and Ricky for Wolves?
