Leon , 28 , in good form , "currently" playing for a club that in crisis , no home , owners who don't care about the customers , owners who would stop paying him if it suited them ? Good luck lad , look after yourself , just as your employers do ! I don't think any of the squad would n't jump ship given half the chance .
I think the highlighted points are irrelevant Lost Fan after all if Leon had those kind of concerns why not push a transfer through to money bags Sheffield United when the opportunity arose in the summer?
How would I know !! lol.... Perhaps he finally had enough of this CIRCUS !

Maybe it wasn't the right move for him. Do people honestly think that employee's really love the company they work for that much ? I know I don't and I am sure that Leon is the same. Everyone's first thought should always be for their family's and their best interests. All this talk about him saying he loves it here, he is enjoying it with Wilson etc, what do people expect him to say. Give the man a break for fuck sake. We should be thanking him for all the goals he has scored that have given at least a hope of playoffs but more importantly dragging us away from a relegation battle. As far as I am concerned, the club should have had contingencies in place in case this sort of thing came along.
Don't get me wrong I am grateful for Leon and his contribution, I have also met Leon and he seemed like a nice guy, not when you consider the things other fans and stuff say about him, however the things I don't appreciate is when he say's to the CT "I won't force through a transfer" or words to that affect and then hands in a transfer request?? Maybe it wasn't the right move for him and perhaps he is holding out for a move to Wolves and I can appreciate that, but Kenny Jackett has said this morning “We’ve not made any bids or inquiries for Leon Clarke. People know the window is open and we do get linked with a lot of players.” So if Leon is holding out for a move to Wolves it's not looking a dead set move.
However if Sheffield United isn't the right move for him can you explain how Barnsley will be...?
I don't think it's OK. He signed a contract agreeing to be at the club for X amount of time. He has a good half season then wants away to pastures new. So why sign that length of contract in the first place? It's one thing the club selling him on and another when he asks for a transfer even after saying he was happy here.
Wolves have denied they want him so if he has handed in his notice thinking Wolves were after him and they are not, absolute egg on his face.
It's the length of contract that the club put to him. I like my job, I have a contract of employment with them, does that mean I have to stay with them for life ? Contracts are nothing more than a piece of paper that the club need to be able to sell a player rather than he leave for free. Would you rather he signed a six month deal and leave for free ? What benefit does that give the club ?
If things were better here maybe he would want to stay ! Unstable employer , Id be off like a shot !!
Rubbish. Would that mean only players at Coventry City would want to leave and players at "stable" clubs never would? He's played for 13 clubs including 7 loans. He's not exactly known for sticking around. Time we moved on.
this merry go round will keep continuing while sisu play their underhand games with our club. The fact the club is a shambles, playing in a shed in Northants, with an unclear future--is a factor; in this case I think it's a not too significant a factor.
But let's face it at the moment if a player had a choice between us and another League 1 club, on similar wages they'd take the other one.

Surprised it took so long for a shite conspiracy theory, not surprised where it comes from though. You don't half talk some crap pal.SISU/Otium/Arvo. Will be laughing all the way to the bank after this. Leon ASKED for a transfer...This means NO "extras" paid into his bank. I had a gut feeling when he pulled out of the Crawley game with a "Groin Strain" something was brewing. I had the same feeling, and I actually said Ben Turner wouldn't play for Coventry again almost 4 weeks before he was sold to Cardiff. Ask yourselves this...Did he ask for a transfer, or was he pushed into it by SISU? Ben Turner was fit to play 3-4 weeks before he left why wasn't he played?...If SISU "Smell" money, they wouldn't risk the player being injured. My bet is SISU had an offer for Leon and told him he wasn't playing again. IMHO of course.
Quite agree. Whilst it is true that Leon has always led a nomadic existence, playing for a car crash of a club can't help persuade some players to commit medium/ long term. It can't be a great feeling to score a goal in a virtually empty home ground. At the start of the season fans and players probably felt that a resolution would probably be found in the near future, now it looks like the future is for the situation to deteriorate still further. The past was never great, the present is absolutely terrible, and the future seems even worse. The fact the club is a shambles, playing in a shed in Northants, with an unclear future--is a factor; in this case I think it's a not too significant a factor.

Come on sbk, not everything is a sisu conspiracy, maybe Leon just wants more money, and Tbf like many have said, our club is a car crash atm, you can't really blame him for wanting to go. Doesn't mean sisu are giving him the push though.@ covmark....Wipe your chin son..you've got shite dribbling out the corner of your mouth.
