George Best didn't die until 2005. He wasn't in the squad for the testimonial.

Alan Green always seemed a bit snotty when discussing us (did he not play a season for us once - did he have a crap time of it, or was that a different bloke?). And that Posh berk Durham, we seem to have upset him a bit.

Dunno if he has a hatred of Cov in particular, I know when he first came to ATV he was given the speedway to cover which he didn't particularly like, perhaps that's got something to do with it? As a person I actually found him OK on the couple of occasions we used him for a corporate video. He was very obliging, chatty, professional, went out of his way to give the YTS kid a leg up...even stepped up to give out some prizes at an awards do without being asked. Perhaps we caught him in a good mood?

Sort of. He was loaned out for a couple of seasons and then went for good.

I think he even played for the USA team.

For us he was a good player mostly and a regular goal scorer.

In years gone by perhaps but now I fail to understand any ill feeling towards a club that has plummeted down the divisions and managed about two top half finishes in the process.

I remember Stuart Hall the commentator and for those old enough presenter of Its a Knockout, bad mouthing us in an article once, similar to the line 'What's the point of CCFC' and so one.

Was obviously so sad to see the wheels of justice catch up with the sick fucker and him do a stretch at Her Majesty's pleasure.

Agreed. There's some hostility from Walsall but I think that's more down to being a bigger club than them and us taking a lot of fans there - bit like us with Villa

Fuck me that place is depressing. Same old shite from the same fuckers day in, day out. We get it, you don't go to games because of the owners.

Gilbert's made it so that all of my comments on there are moderated before they're shown on the forum anyway after constantly slagging off his shit excuse of a newspaper, so I no longer bother. Far better on here, at least there is a degree of intellect and the banter's good.

I just came back from holiday on the Med. I got chatting to a guy wearing a Blues shirt. When he realised I was a Cov fan he shook my hand and spoke about how awful it was for us and how much he loved Highfield Road. So, not Blues fans.

Especially those who still claim to be Coventry fans, but won't get a ST while SISU are in charge - they moved a club away from its community after all. Happy to get a Wasps one though.

Yes. Many years ago, mid 80s I believe a load of Cov boys were in Whitley Bay in the North east, Portsmouth had been playing a north east side that weekend, so they also descended on the place. Long story short there was a big fight and one of Pompey's top boys got seriously hurt.
Since then on at least 2 occasions t, there has been a load of crowd trouble at Highfield Road with Portsmouth fans. It's all to do with the above.

it ended up getting political between the club and the police regarding classification of the game and stuff like that. Some City supporters got caught up in the pissing contest and ended up going down for some fairly innocuous shit.
