Penalties (1 Viewer)

It’s patently clear there is an agenda against us and Frank, from the EFL. Maybe because he’s complained about the standard of officiating or because they want to make the league exciting and a runaway team doesn’t provide that. Should we have had more penalties? Discuss…

Yes, we have had a couple of absolutely terrible decisions go against us. As an aside, how many penalties have we given away ourselves this season? I can only think of Derby and Watford off the top of my head. They don't seem particularly common at either end when we are involved.

Frank has alluded to it in press conferences. It’s not delusion, it’s delusion to think we shouldn’t have had more penalties.

Did I say we shouldn't have had more penalties? We absolutely should done.

But it doesn't mean there is an agenda against it. It just means referees have made mistakes.

Given the massive amounts of touches we have in the oppos box most games, there is doubt over why we get so few penalties awarded.
the law of averages should level out to give us more.

How do you know that?

I don't know either way but I would suspect a lot of other teams have had a number turned down too...

Let's see if it evens up over the course of the rest of the year

I know because I’ve seen at least 3 stone wall blatant penalties not given where it’s actually more controversial not to give it. We should be top of the list in my OP.

If this stuff does level itself out over the season we should get a few between now and the end of the season, maybe in some tight games when they make a difference to the result. I don't think there's an agenda just some bad decisions, there seems to be a lot of defenders falling over and bringing the striker down with them which isn't deemed a foul by the refs, that probably needs looking at by the powers that be.

Take your tin foil hat off, fella. There’s not a Football League backed conspiracy to not give us penalties. Genuinely insane.

I don’t know, but why have 4 of the top 6 been in receipt of parachute payments. Whilst 2 of the top 7 have high profile documentaries about them.

it’s a bit suss
I see what you are saying now. They are potentailly paying ref's off?

Tight arse Doug needs to stop spending on the ski slopes and get a direct debit up to the refereeing association then.

Thinking we should have had more penalties (we should) is not delusional; thinking that we have not had more penalties because of some sinister agenda against us is.

We haven't had the penalty decisions we have because the referees didn't make the right decisions. Some of them have been proper honkers (MvE v Charlton, EMC v Birmingham), but others you can see, whilst they should have been given, why the ref erred on the side of caution.

It is getting a bit silly that they've all come in a short run of games, but there's no agenda. That's mad talk, it really is.

Incidentally, have we given any away this season, and have we got away with any not being given against us? I know there was the one at Charlton, but that would have been extremely harsh.
