So now, if a goalkeeper saves a penalty and it goes over the bar or round the post it's a goal kick, not a corner? Mental!
I wonder what Oggy will have to say about this

I keep hoping some long lost footage will turn up in someone's shed, it must have been on motd because I can remember John Bond being asked how he felt scoring 4 away from home and still losing

God knows how I'm sad enough to remember all these details but ...
I remember we were 2-0 up with Wallace's bicycle kick and then a penalty, scored by Barry Powell, I think. Then Norwich scored 3 goals and we went in at half time 3-2 down.
Brian Roberts, one of our shortest players, played centre half cos we had an injury crisis amongst our defenders, and at least 2 of Norwich's goals came from crosses into the box.
Second half Ray Gooding equalised, it was our 500th 1st division (in those days) goal. I think Ray Graydon scored one of our next 2 goals and they scored an equalizer before our 5th one went in. Then there was the dramatic last minute Norwich penalty. Jim Blyth got his big fist to it and it flew up into the Kop end and the whole stadium went mad

I’m sure I remember Bywater saving one for us against Reading (Leroy Lita maybe?), must’ve been the first season at the CBS, think it ended 1-1. I was sat right behind it.

I was there an incredible match . Some save by JM as the one was hit with a lot of pace into the top right hand corner but a fantastic save.

Fantastic game I can never find any footage of the game. Luckily I was there . I was also at a Cov game maybe in the 80s away at Notts County , we were awarded a pen we missed it and the ref ordered a retake and we missed that too .

Wasn't it on Boxing Day ? Just remembered that bit (or misremembered!) Would be great to see some highlights, as you say.

Westwood was my favourite keeper I got the pleasure of seeing play for us.
Devastated when he left.
Rushworth is good but still early and Dovin was also good for us but injured.

Westwood meant I was confident we weren't going to get hammered as he was that good. Despite our poor management team at the time

Yep, we played at Villa on Boxing Day - the game Graham Oakey got his injury - and then home to Norwich the next day.

Imagine what Pep would say about that!
