Not sure he's the right choice but then did we think Robins was the right one at first

Chris wilder was the bookies favourites for ages last time and Robins hadn't even featured in the betting - I wouldn't read too much into it.

Nope.

There was a few odds on at certain points if I remember.

I wouldn't read too much into it.

1/4 is extrememly short though, don't think Wilder was anything near that. Someone must know something..

Yeah wilder was 1/3 at one point, as was wise, and Michael Appleton and ince was 4/6.

I wouldn't be too unhappy if it was him.

Remember, we have now limited our options with the current mess we're in. I'm sure that's put an awful lot of managers off.

Would say the supposed 50 applicants we have had so far contains a lot of dregs.

Can't see as this would be a good appointment. A cheap option.

Managerial career

Pemberton coached Nottingham Forest's reserve team to the Central League title in the 2007–08 season. In December 2008, following the dismissal of first-team manager Colin Calderwood, Pemberton was appointed as caretaker manager for the match against Norwich City, guiding Forest to a 3–2 victory.Billy Davies was appointed to the post, but did not take over with immediate effect. Pemberton took charge of the Forest side which caused an upset in the Third Round of the FA Cup by winning 3–0 at the City of Manchester Stadium against Manchester City.

At the end of the 2008–09 season Davies reorganised his coaching staff, and Pemberton's contract was terminated by mutual consent after more than a decade as part of Forest's backroom team.

The following season saw him join Crystal Palace's coaching staff for a short spell. The Eagles were in administration, and Pemberton was brought in, along with manager Paul Hart and assistant Dougie Freedman (both of whom had worked with Pemberton as a manager and a player respectively at Forest), for two months to keep the Eagles in the Championship. This was achieved on the final day of the season, after which his contract expired.

After leaving Palace he was appointed as the manager of Sheffield United's academy in May 2010 and guided his young team to the Youth FA Cup Final the following season, losing out to Manchester United over two legs. He left Sheffield United in September 2012.

The safe option out there for us would be Simon Grayson I'd say.

And I think he will go to us or Preston.

Allow Grayson to go to PNE, I think that appointment would be a bad deal for CCFC, swapping Grayson for MR, no.

I'd try and poach a manager tbh.

We can try and poach him but he'll end up being roasted and grilled trust me.

I'd love us to go for Tisdale but he wouldn't come anyway.

Never EVER thought Robins was right. and as the embarrassing effort by huddersfield, I was right all along.

Carsley if he can get a couple of good displays should surely be top contender. no cost, enthusiastic, not desperate for to get back into football, and willing to stick it out!

Do not think we can afford to poach a manager from anyone as would cost us money.

Yep completely agree. It will probably be someone out of work.

Karl Robinson or Tisdale. I'd love Eddie Howe to take the job, but it is almost a 0% chance - these are all unlikely I have to admit.

Paulo Sousa, Coyle would be a good choices.

I don't know who they'll pick, it'll be interesting.

I've got a horrible feeling Westley will either; get the job, or very close it! :jerkit:

Maybe leave Carsley in charge until the rent is sorted, make us more appealing to better managers.

I'll bet they will at least send out a feeler to Eric Black. It would be a canny move. He is unemployed, lives locally, has a managerial track record (so no Thorn v.2), and has been on their radar before. But more importantly for SISU, it would be a strong PR move while these acrimonious negotiations continue with the council. Worth a fiver while his odds are still long.

The Last person I thought that about was Andy Thorn. I hope we don't make the same mistake again!!

I'd be open to Morrell from Wrexham, the bloke loved it with us, even turned up at City away games and sat with our fans way after he had left the club. Determination in abundance, has done very well with the Welsh club and would probably work for an affordable salary...................only other one would be Grayson but I'd guess he'll stay up North if he can. Mind you who would gamble everything here now with the accounts frozen and the club in turmoil. I think we could be working with Carsley for a while. Good luck Lee !

Whatever we all think about SISU they did get the right man for the job in Robins. But saying that they did put that joker Thorn in charge. Lets hope they they make the right appointment this time.

I seem to remember that was a lot of people's reaction when we were linked with Nigel Pearson when SISU came in, yet supporters demanding a name, and we know how well that went!

Yeah they are pretty much unrealistic, I would be interested in Coyle though.

Robinson is or might be vulnerable given their poor form and may regret turning down B'pool, so who knows? Tisdale, might be poachable, but, I don't really know who's available, might be forced into poaching.

Unless we class; Megson, Westley and Brown as good managers!
