Sounds most likely.I suspect MR thought he wasn't up to it, said "look son, I'm not offering you a deal - thanks for your time and good luck elsewhere", which Pearson acknowledged was MR's call and accepted, then it was put out there as "mutual consent".
Leaves us a man down at CB which hopefully will be filled ASAP, given Rod and Willis injury concerns.

Maybe MR thought the bloke's injury record was too worrying (like Reda where we took a gamble and lost), rather than blithely discarding a perfectly decent pro with a decent fitness record in the hope of getting something better...If robins hasn't got anybody lined up it's like Mowbray and Martin all over again.
