So, mental Nige has signed a 3 year contract with Bristol City.
His record was : P12 W2 D3 L7
How he earned that with their abject performances at the end of the season, i have no idea ??

Can't see anything other than an expensive parting of the ways there in the future.

As long as he releases Liam Walsh I’ll be happy

Agree. Massive divorce settlement, BCFC visiting the lower leagues perhaps.

Looks like Pearson is going to undertake a big clearout there. The thing is, is he a manager that can attract players?

Yep, that's what I was thinking also. He's obviously gone in and talked the owners through his plans for the future which would likely involve a clear out given how badly things have started for him.

The board obviously have faith in him as well to give him a 3 year deal as I'm sure they would've had other decent candidates for the role as well.

Don’t think he’s got much choice has he? Think I read somewhere that most of the first team are out of contract at the end of the season.

He wasn't even in charge for that Middlesbrough win either. He was appointed on 22nd Feb but only started on 24th.

P 13 W 2 D 3 L 8

Mental.

Genuinely looking like a bizarre decision , one that is fully backed by Bristol fans too

That's what makes it even weirder. They seem to think all the players are crap & Pearson is doing the right thing by publicly slagging them off every week. Well, they were plenty good enough last season & if he can't motivate them or instill any passion in them whatsoever when they are theoretically playing for their futures then what exactly is he doing?

Imagine if they finish below us with that squad. Embarrassing.

And to think the usual suspects were advocating swapping Robins for him

Is it the owner changing policy rather than what a manager or Pearson in particular brings.
Like that article saying the owner's administration for Robins,is it the model here he likes.
Would save himself a lot of dosh.

From time to time results can gloss over frailties in a team or the opposite & teams could be getting a bad rub of the green so underlying data/metrics help us analyse if a team is really doing the right things & is a bit of luck or a piece of recruitment/tactical tweak away (think Brighton's xG vs actual goals etc.)

So... Bristol City...
Surely they can't really be as bad as recent results right?
Wrong... This is horrific!

Anyone that hands out a 3 year deal to a manager with this underperformance is very, very brave!

Cov perform pretty well in the shots on target metric both ways, top half in either measure.

Is he likely to compete for MAtty James at this level? He signed him for Leicester.
