Just had a look on the Bradford website.

It looks like the way they do it is that the fan pays at the start of each month and has their tickets for that month posted out to them.

Surely that way there would be no need for any sort of credit agreements etc? If they don't pay that month then they lose the benefit of having the cheaper tickets at season ticket prices and it is cancelled.

All it would need is a direct debit / standing order setup at the start of the season for a certain day every month.

Wouldn't have throught. At most you'd only ever be unpaid for one or two games I would have thought so shouldn't be a problem not having a credit license. Something for the SCG to suggest at the next meeting if the club say they don't have a monthly payment plan.

Surely if we had the electronic card season ticket back the monthly top up would be automatic and no posting required.
Also could the system not allow individuals to have a card and be topped up for each match as a pay per match instead of tickets.
Could it not be sent to an iphone or apple watch in the future ?
The technology is out there already.

You could have the first payment in June so you could even be a couple of months in advance.

Exactly. Then they finish paying say February / March time.

It saves going to a credit company.

As Italia says if the card system could be used they could be loaded on automatically without even posting the tickets.

How many more season tickets would sell if people could pay monthly for them?

It was mentioned somewhere, think it might have been the SCG, that the electronic system is Wasps and at present CCFC are not being given access to it. They were hoping they could make arrangements to use it next season but I haven't heard anything since.

The problem with the old electronic cards we used is that whenever they didn't work, which was pretty often, the stewards would just let you in.

Remember too, particularly Cup games, when they used to send you to the ticket office too as the game hadn't been "loaded" on the ticket. I much prefer paper season tickets.

One thing we forgot in this? you need staff to admister this type of initiative and currently the ticket office staff have to clean the bogs if they get any spare time

I haven't checked in detail but there are new rules just come in that might mean such an arrangement doesn't require a consumer credit licence at all

The beauty of the card system is that all the turnstiles are connected to a computer database and just check you card number against what you have paid for.
I.e the card does not have to be updated with purchases it's all on the Ricoh computer.
All the ticket office does is update your access match by match on their computer.
Anybody should be able to have a card, season ticket holders or walk up, providing they have pre registered which they would need to do to get their card.

We had this, it was called FlexCard. I've still got mine. They binned it, along with the cashless payment thing, as everyone kept moaning about it!

From what I understand we can't use it now as it's an ACL owned system and they aren't giving us access to it.

Who says we can't have access?
Surely sharing the cost is advantageous to both of us ?

I am talking about the old season ticket electronic card !!

I believe this is an important issue for many supporters and will make sure it is brought up at SCG tonight and will report back clubs response

For me to renew my season ticket next season the club will have to have a montly payment set up as I wont be able to do it in one lump sum. Hoping something will be announced soon

Bradford are one of the more creative clubs when it come to ticket pricing, they also do flexi cards, basically you pay £50 a year and get half price match day tickets I think

I can afford to just buy it but I have to think seriously about it before I do.
If it's monthly payment I would not give it a second thought.

£350 Now makes me justify it.
or £35 a month over 10 months is a no brainer.

Show me where they say we can't and ISTFU
Until then I will assume that SISU can't ask because "they are building us a new stadium" and can't appear to be interested in staying at the Ricoh.

ACL / Wasps apparently, think it was at one of the SCG meetings. Said they didn't have access to it this year and it would have taken to long to order the cards when we returned unexpectedly anyway hence paper tickets were being used. Also said they were hoping to have further discussions with Wasps to see if they could get access to the system for future seasons. Reading between the lines Wasps now own the system, as its part of ACL, and they will charge a fee for us to use it.

italiahorse said:

What cost? The system is already in place, has been since the Ricoh opened. The cost is in ordering the cards, a small unit cost, and staff time activating cards.

You mean these:

They were used for season tickets and you could also buy a flexcard which cost a couple of quid from memory but got you a discount if you 'topped up' in advance of matchday. They scrapped that as it wasn't popular.

If they don't offer credit people could always get a 0% interest credit card, stick it on there and pay it off over a few months.

Assume assume assume, it seems to be "We just have to ask Wasps" but as time goes on, pretty much everything is ruled out isn't it?

I understand this season was missed but if the system is still working they should be ready for the next season.
Wasps missed this season as well and are using paper tickets as well but they appear to be sending out tickets with barcodes for printing out yourself so there are a few options.

As I said, as time goes on you come out with stuff where we just have to ask and we will get. Then it seems to come out it isn't the case.

I get the benefits for ST holders, but don't see the point for walk ups or ad hoc attendees. Nothing wrong with paper, as long as there's 0% finance options which I'm sure there will be, as we have it before with Zebra Finance(?).

I'd hope getting access to the electronic ticketing system is one of the simpler conversations needed to be had, shouldn't access to it be covered in rent/match day costs?

Maybe not if you have negotiated a 100K rental with some incomes.
I would not have thought there would be much cost though as its already there.
Implications for both ticket office staff though as duplication usually results in job losses (cost savings)
