I am looking for teams for the above, Pongo was a great friend of mine, and maybe some on here, he took his own life 4 years ago and each year we have a football tournament for his memory and to raise a little cash for his daughters he left behind.
Pongo was a traveled non league footballer, Racing Club, VS Rugby, Shepshed, Bedworth United, Coventry Sphinx. He was a fierce competitor on the pitch and a cracking lad off it - he is missed by all that knew him.
I am looking for teams for this years tournament at Coventry Sphinx on the 25th August (Bank Holiday Sunday) The tournament is 6 a side (max 8 per team) the cost of entry is £40 (£5 each for a team of 8) the winners receive £150 and runners up £50 - we have players aged from 17 to 60 and all abilities play in this, we try to match like for like when drawing out the leagues, it is fun and not taken too seriously, well until the final that is :slap: only joking!! we have bouncy castles, hot food and the Spinx Bar is open and showing one of the prems live games, and in the evening at the Sphinx we normally have a tribute band, but this year we have struggled to get one booked so we are having 80's and 90's Disco - if you would be interested in putting a team drop your details on here and I will be in touch - its a bit of fun and good day out!! so what are you waiting for dust off the old Puma Kings and pull a team together!!
