Not the team who I thought played well - decided to get a lift back to Cov after the match and bin my train ticket after issues getting to the game on the train - took us in total 1.5 hours to get back to Cov on a journey that should take 20 mins - Pathetic - roads closed and empty when they should be quickly opened after the game - total gridlock -

Park in Herbert Road and you will have no problem getting away quickly after the game.

I couldn’t get out of the car park and didn’t get to Nuneaton until 7pm, but got to listen to the madness of the phone in without interruption after a nice win so not to bothered.

Just behind Morrisons. A couple of streets back from the Roost. Its in the non closure section and gets straight on to the road out to the A45

I can usually get from the car park next to the Roost to Ash Green in 35 mins, but yesterday was a nightmare. Roads normally clear were clogged up because of temporary lights on Garrison Lane, so it took longer than usual, but I guess other routes were fine.

Park right by the ground Bolton Road Short walk to SA. just make sure you park the right way for quick getaway and you can turn straight onto A45, then it’s a direct route to Cov can be at Allesley in half an hour.

It's a bit over a mile. You could walk it in less than 30 minutes, and better for your health too!

It took us 65 minutes to go the 10 miles home to Dudley. I have season pass for main car park. Garrison Lane is gridlocked due to road closures to the right of the main car park + temporary traffic lights which reduces it to one lane contraflow + middle ringroad gridlock.

Used to get home from Ricoh faster than that = 30 miles!

Went to my first game at St Andrews yesterday. Got to say I enjoyed it, especially with the win. Got a train back to Coventry about 7oclock, back in Coventry in 20 minutes.

I don’t know your individual circumstances, but the walk is only 30-35m from St Andrews to New St.

Straight out, through some back roads. I just followed Waze which finds the quickest route. Onto the A45 then off by allesley.

I make sure I'm parking the right way so it doesn't take an age to turn round.

I took the train despite the nonsense about delays and crowded the virgin train going was empty until international and I ended up getting a London midland one back and back in Coventry at 18 15 there was about 10 people on it- it’s not an arctic expedition and it cost less than parking in a pub near the Ricoh - £4.50

Park in main stand car park...left bang on final whistle, home in Rugby by 5:50.
Suggest people get sat-navs onnthe go... Google maps always gives quickest route including traffic.
(Often go home down 45, sent me A38/M6 yesterday.... also sends me a different way there pretty much every week!)
Yes, lights on Garrison Lane held us up for 10 mins or so... but nothing out of the ordinary after that on route selected by sat nav!
Use the technology!!

Indeed, but we were needing to get a train and hadn’t left enough time to walk. As it happened, we missed the train we were aiming for and also the one after. Then we went into All Bar One and missed the following one as well!

Ticking so many bloody bloke boxes this thread. You get to talk about locations relative to the nearest pub, then optimal major road usage. I've put on double denim just to post this message.

What is it with these posts about traffic and trains. It’s public transport and roads, sometimes it’s busy. I’ve only driven to St. Andrews twice, once got the car keyed, and other took me 40 mins to get near the a45. Every other time got the train and walked into town, it’s been fine.

not sure what people expect, we play our home games In the 2nd largest city in England

Which way were you going to get to the A45? People arent trying to go down by Mcdonalds and the IBIS are they?

I am back in Coventry in 40 minutes, there has only been once when the M6 was closed after a night game when it took longer.
