I’ve hired a party boat for Charlton away to go down the Thames before the game, included in this is a cold (basic) buffet and a free bar. We’ll be taking in the sights of London for 3 hours and then docking at North Greenwich Pier.
The cost will be £30 per person for the boat, it would be the responsibility of those travelling to get to the pier in the morning, however I will be running a coach from the Wallace which will be an extra £13 or £14, I need to discuss the hours with the owner of the company today. The coach will then pick us up from outside the ground and back to the Wallace afterwards.
Places for this will sell out very fast so if you’re interested please message me or call me on 07508307046. No places will be reserved until payment is made as I have to pay the boat company and can’t afford to be left loads out of pocket.
Thanks

3 hours, free bar, River Thames. What could possibly go wrong?! Good luck, though and fair play for organising such an event

I've done the party boat thing in London for a work Christmas Party a couple of times. Good fun - not sure how "in the spirit of it" you'd be at 10am in London but then this is boozy football supporting so anything is possible!

Another idea would have been to hire the boat to pick up from near the Thames Barrier (if possible) which is near to the Charlton ground, then take everyone back into London central after the game, then hit the town from there.

The problem with that idea is that the atmosphere depends on the result.

People are usually up for it beforehand. But usually after the game not really up for it.

Isn't the whole idea to advertise it to fill the places, the same as the coaches?

Never booked one before but yes I assume he is advertising on here as he has to fill the spaces to be able to pay for it.
Was worried for the lad that he is getting a load of strangers together with a free bar mentality stuck in a boat in the river.
On the coach people bring their own booze but it’s not the I must drink as much as I can from the ‘free’ bar to get my ‘moneys worth’.
Also people are sitting in one place beside one other. This is a party boat.
Just hope he is tied into any deposit or take any responsibility or anything.
As I say fairplay braver man than me.
Maybe it doesn’t work that way.
Sorry to sound negative.
As we need more and more of this sort of thing.
So hats off to him

There will be security on board and also I’ve contacted Cov and Met police about it so they are aware. How I always do it is the lead person on the booking has to take some responsibility for his/ her mates and other than one instance there has been no trouble with the people on my coach *touch wood*.
I’d also like to think on things like this, if anyone does see any trouble starting to flare up, they’d speak sense into them because otherwise it’ll be the last time anything different like this can happen.

Also ‘vow’, a wedding anniversary comes around every year... this won’t ha

Once it’s sold out mate, I’ve held back some seats for my regulars (think it’s only fair), and they have until Saturday to book or their places become available too.
How many would you be looking at?

There’s still places left for this if anyone is keen. I’ll be in the Wallace again today from 4-6 but no longer reserving seats. It is now a case of pay or you don’t get a place I’m afraid

Still got tickets for this?

You're posting with such urgency and I can see that the uptake is high, so I'm desperate to put my cash up front and get the free bar boat trip asap.
