Interesting about the lack of joined up services. What are your thoughts?

I know someone with a long career in the probation services in London and Coventry, and who went on to be an inspector of prisons. They are retired now.

A while ago I asked them if they believed that people could be rehabilitated. They said without a home to go to and a job it’s pretty difficult.
In terms of joint services, I don’t know if it’s true in England but in Wales they did away with the priority need status for prison leavers in homelessness/housing which meant local authorities no long had a duty to house ex offenders (this may have been reinstated Im a little out the loop - and cba to check).

Can't argue with that, think people underestimate how much thinks like cutting funding for things like mental health and addiction services impact.

Found the bit at the end of this show about how they do things different in Norway, and the difference in reoffending rates, interesting

I meant when you’d think they’d be coached to say what the parole board want to hear but they just answer without being aware
