Two questions asked and answered by Vince Cable today:
Mr Bob Ainsworth (Coventry North East) (Lab):
Does the Secretary of State have any plans to look at the Insolvency Act 1986? Hedge funds appear to have the ability to acquire companies, to empty them of their assets, to appoint administrators of their choosing and to proceed without fear of being pursued vigorously. That certainly seems to be what is happening at Coventry City football club. Will he look at the situation and the framework of the law?
Vince Cable:
Yes, we are doing just that. I spoke on Monday about that question in the general context of trusted business. We are, indeed, looking at the insolvency provisions. We are looking at insolvency practitioners’ fees, at some of the potential conflicts of interest that arise in that industry and at the regulatory framework.
Mr Jim Cunningham (Coventry South) (Lab):
Will the Secretary of State get together with the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to have a look at the way in which the Football League applies its regulations to private ownership of football clubs, because there is a diabolical mess at Coventry at the moment?
Vince Cable:
Coventry seems to have some problem in that area. I come from the city of York, which went through this misery, as many towns have done in the English league. I can certainly have a look at that; it is not immediately clear to me where I fit into the picture, but I am interested in football and want to see it healthy.
- tabled a parliamentary written question to Sec of State for Culture Media & Sport
- raised an early day motion
- submitted a question to the leader of the house

Translation:
I don't want that monkey on my shoulder!
But I can always go and watch a game to confirm that football is in good health.

the problem is this will have no effect on our current sutuation, parliament does not jursidiction to tell the f.a or private what to do, they can simply change laws, though those laws can only apply to the now not past
The MP's are trying to ramp up the pressure, I got a reply from my MP Jim Cunningham yesterday showing he has:
They're not expressed as forcefully as the question Bob Aisnworth has asked, but they are at least keeping the matter alive in the commons.
I think the big difference with today's question and answer is that Jim Cunningham has got Vince Cable to agree to look specifically at problems with CCFC.
I think it could be a game changer because a minister of state has made a commitment to the commons to investigate the matter, not a commitment to Jim Cunningham or the fans. If he doesn't follow through with his commitment or attempts to fudge it, he is at the mercy of the opposition who would use any excuse to be able to discredit a minister.
Civil servants in his department will be responsible for conducting this investigation and preparing his response to the commons. At this level, civil servants understand the requrement for accuracy and the truth and are likely to be too experienced to be taken in by SISU's fantasies, so Cables's eventual response is gong to be very interesting.
No he hasn't. He is looking broadly at how hedge funds activities are regulated. Considering that changes to regulation would need legislation, we'll be in the next parliament by the time law has changed. It is completely academic imo.
Sorry but what a pathetic answer. All the big-wigs as you call them are not in each others pockets, the vast majority of MPs are in the job for the right reasons, one of those reasons is to look their constituents and constitunciesI'm not claiming to know much about politics, but all of the big wigs are in each others pockets with back handers. Have a look at FIFA as a good example..

Doesn't sound as though Vince Cable is that bothered....
Probably true, however the one thing that we can be sure of is that "the secretive" Joy Seppala will not be happy with all this publicity.
You should read those two questions and answers again - carefully.

You used the term all and each other. There are still honourable people about you know IMO as administrator of this website you should choose your words more carefully
Have been going through my financial stuff for doing my tax recently (like to have it all in one place so I can do nothing about it for a few months) and I thought about whether I was actually holding anything SISU related. I'm going to ask my pension company whether they have any money in anything to do with SISU and if so to switch me to something that doesn't.The only good this will do is put the Spotlight on SISU & the Coventry City Council and they will not want this level of publicity
which pension fund is goig to invest in a Hedge fund with a sullied reputation?
Im actually meeting with Vince Cable in a couple of weeks by a happy bit of coincidence, perhaps we can have a chat about the Sky Blue woes.......... you never know...........
I dont understand you people ! Another thread where a well intentioned person has posted a significant development in our fight to rid this club of the shackles of these hard faced tricksters called SISU (aledgedly) and the usual crew come out and knock it yet again! If you accept the present regime , be men ,come out and say it rather than knock every action ,protest , organisation or idea set up to hasten their downfall. Im pissed off ! The heats getting to me and i think ive spelt alegedly wrong does that leave me open to be sued
I expect the piss takers to also state this is a waste of time to ! Crticize me and others for showing passion if you must - but I'ask what are YOU doing to aid the Sky Blues cause .. well done Jim, keep at 'em !
