ACL Charge £10 to park at the ground yet its only £5 to get in to the game! Its going to be mayhem when we get 27,000 home fans in - Can anyone remember where to park when such a large crowd turns up? :thinking about:

Don't know why people use the grounds parking, there's two car parks by the Novotel that charge £2.50 only a 10 min walk to the ground

The official car parks are a rip off, £10 for a couple of hours. Does anybody know if ACL keep the car park revenue or if they out sourced the contract to a private company.

Would people complain if the tickets were £15 and car park was £10?

£10 is fine if you have 5 chipping in within the car, not so much if you are on your tod. People manage to get there with 40,000 at the concerts so I imagine we'll all be fine. If you can take a bus, do so and free up the parking for those travelling from further, the biggest moaners as usual will be those with the shortest distance to negotiate.

Suppose it's just a bit sneaky. Another cost on going to watch what has become a pretty expensive hobby and something that wasn't an issue at HR. Of course with the set up at the Ricoh there needs to be a charge, but it's always going to be frustrating when it costs double to park than watch the game! The location makes it difficult for many fans to do anything other than drive. The fact that the club don't get anything from it makes it worse.

There are a few that are free like tesco or pub car parks if you go in! Blackberry lane is free but dodgy in the dark!

When will people listen and be told...........yes the club do make money off the parking, they buy the franchise on match days at a price and sell on at a profit.

Yeah c'mon guys, don't say anything bad about the almighty ACL
After all, they have been giving us a great deal on the rent for years and only have the clubs best interests at heart ......

I park in lythalls lane no probs as I know a resident but most times you could sneak there. I think the cherrytrees charge 2,50 to park there. But on a week night I couldn't see a problem unless you don't like walking 10 minutes

Car park C is well worth it. yes its a tenner but is the quickest exit from any game - turn left or right now out of it. 2 minute walk to any section of the ground. Wouldnt park anywhere else now.

As I said earlier a tenner is a bit steep for many people especially if you are on your own and have already spent money on travelling. Not so bad if you share costs with someone of course! I thought that crowds under 10,000 mean that you can park on the streets within the exclusion zone?! Also I'm happy on some occasions to park out by Longford radiators who only charges £4 and walk up the canal for 10 minutes. Failing that I can park at two other areas for nothing as long as you spend a few quid on vittels within those said establishments. Unless you really do struggle with walking and mobility there are quite a few decent places.

I'm sure I paid a fiver at the car park on the corner of Winding House Lane and Wheelwright Lane for the Preston (League) game. Is that not an official car park?

jpt parking

I posted this article before the match against Preston. Bearing in mind that I live 100 miles away from the Ricoh finding somewhere to park near the ground is impossible when you can't get there much before 7.30. Parking for the Preston was almost impossible I dread to think what it will be like for the Crewe game.

No parking now is hopeless. I always found a space when parking at high field road. It's ironic there are so many zones restricting parking now. There wasn't then. I pay to park and its a rip off. I assume the fee is set by ACL not the club.
