No don't want him. Will probably want about 6k p/w as well, send him back to Cardiff I say a waste of wages.

just not a "Andy Thorn" player at all is he.

Oh well, Taybarns must be happy at this.

if we are doing a cash plus player swap, then give him to brum in exchange for King

So what is an "Andy Thorn player"? Whether he likes to play football on the deck or not, we still need a big man up front who can hold the ball up and use his height to his advantage for corners etc.

Parkin is actually a decent player at this level, he wont score us bags of goals, but is a far better target man than Juke-Box, who I reckon will be offski anyway. We need to find someone who can partner Parkin who will get us goals. IMO the big man/ little man system works best.

I think Turner for Parkin would benefit us personally. He's not a King standard striker admittedly and is obviously a bit of a last ditch transfers because its all we can get! But to be honest we don't "NEED" Turner and its not the end of the world if we lose him. But we DO need a striker just to balance things out. Plus as much as everyone hates it, the remaining money goes towards the "fuck off sisu fund". Parkin is strong and will get the job done! Maybe Juke could be there to pick-up the leftovers (who knows Freddy might even manage that).
Its one more player we need and if we can get a loan in as well things might be looking up. We just need to stay up... SISU won't be here forever. Players leaving is inevitable... we need to get all we can back in return.

I have a feeling that the plan is to sell Juke and Turner to replace with Parkin and Scotland/Macdonald, Which still leaves us in a position of having a very small squad with no depth.

If the lump Parkin is coming in then its bye bye Turner and Juke. Anyway Parkin will fall through after he fails medical or wants more than minimum wage or doesn't like the brand of pie at the Ricoh. Please can we forget the Scotland and MacDonald rubbish. Scotland was a Twitter fake - and we could never match his wages and Peterborough have tabled a bid for McDonald so that's that gone as we cannot compete with these big clubs.

either way he's better than rod even though i like rod and he would bring exp for juke and more options up front

I agree that he is not the sort of player we need here or one that would fit in with playing the ball on the deck and the style AT plays.

Don't know when this club will get it in their thick heads that we desperately and I mean desperately need a player with PACE!!!

We are signing Parkin so that Bell will appear quicker and AT appears thin

Plus he has scored one goal in 12 appearances.

Now that is mouthwatering for a team like ours that is goal shy.

Agree with Otis, we're crying out for pace!! However, ANY striker to give AT options is desperately needed, and i've always rated the beast at this level. Not prolific, but a better big man than Platty. Hey, it might even work as the Moldovan effect and get people like Freddy pulling their fingers out!! We're flush with CB's, don't mind Big Ben going, but i think the valuation is way out to be honest. If Juke goes for a pittance we riot!! PUSB

He's nearly a 4 goals-a-season man......nothing to be sniffed at then for a striker

Parkin's record since moving up to a higher level in 2007 at Hull is 50 goals in 211 appearances. That gives an average of one goal every 4.22 games.

that's telling us we are going to get about 10 goals a season out of him maximum.

I would personally love to see him here right now. He is actually good with the ball at his feet and is actually a great finisher, probably a lot better than Juke when it comes to putting the ball in the net.

How many times have we seen Juke do this?

or this?

He is quite clinical when it comes to putting his chances away and will make it a nightmare for defenders to defend against him. I like Juke, but would prefer Parkin up front. Ideally both of them together, even if they are the same sort of player I think they would work quite well!

We have more than enough pace up front with ROD, King wasn't the fastest player in the world either. At the minute we do seem to be fluffing a lot of chances, ones that King would have scored quite easily.

clever move from SISU this.

Offering him nothing in wages, but all the pies he wants.

We dont get any money from the catering, so it wont cost SISU anything at all.

Apparently they looked to do something similar with Marcus Bent, but he refused the "pay in crisps" offer

Quite clinical when he puts his chances away? Can't have been getting many chances then at a goal every 4.22 games.

He's better than ROD or Platt.

And apologies for the cliche but he has decent feet for a big man.

He's hardly my number 1 choice of who I'd like us to bring in but we really can't be too picky in our current state can we?

Am i the only one imaging a John Parkin medical to be him running on a treadmill whilst a pie on a stick is dangling down in front of him.

He may be better than ROD and Platt but what does that mean? Pretty much everyone doesn't rate ROD or Platt so that's hardly a great endorsement is it.

He doesn't fit into the system we currently play, hes not mobile enough to change his play to suit us, hes not very good, it would be a stupid waste of money.

Jon Parkin is a definate waste of wages. He's at £9,000 er week here at Cardiff and he's not even on the bench. He is absolutely useless. He's scored 2 goals in 15 appearances which is not the best really. He's very slow but probably the quickest over 2 yards. Personally I don't hate him, he is quite a character on twitter but I wouldn't be sad to see him leave. You would have to put up with him for the rest of the season.

I honestly think this is "PIE" in the sky.

With whats at "STEAK" at this club, SISU must be "KIDNEYing" if they think Parkin is the answer.

i dont mind him as an addition to the team but as a replacement for juke? no thanks

juke has got 2 this year(none pretty!) and will hit 15 minimum imo

i still think rod or freddy can come good lol,but would be devastated if we lost juke.

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't like to see Juke go, I like him as a player and he really works hard. He would be a good partner for Parkin.

Parkin does seem to be more clinical than Juke though when it comes to taking chances. Yes Juke scored that wonder goal but most of his goals that I have seen for us are scrappy scrappy goals (everything counts) or penalties. We just need somebody to put away the one on one chances.

Juke and Parkin up front would be a lot better than Juke and ROD.

Nick, for one on one chances I don't think Parkin is the man.

We can't find or afford anyone to partner juke to get the goals so how are we going to magic one up for Parkin? Jukebox is far better and more dynamic, who holds the ball up and runs the channels - Parkin will stand there like platt, which won't help our system or type of football we play.
