I think we need more info.

Does seem daft to have the players at Hearsall Common 1pm and the promotion party at the Memorial Park at the same time, without the players

Only logical thinking is that the parade ends at Hearsall Common and then they team bus the players in a coach to the Memorial Park.

Because if it's the parade bus, it's still the parade

I would think 99.9% of City fans will want to see the parade with the players and the trophy.

Waiting for more info, because it does seem a little odd at the moment

FYI Coincides with Earlsdon May Day Festival so you can peruse the stalls as you walk from Hearsall Common to the Memorial Park.

The event in the park is an all day music festival so it will start at 1pm and the players will show up later and go on stage for a celebration.

That way they don't get 50K people turn up at the park immediately before the time the team are supposed to be there.

I presume they're ending at Hearsall Common as there's no easy to the park from there without going through Earlsdon and they won't want to do that with Earlsdon Festival on. You'd imagine the reality will be the players will continue on the buses to the park because otherwise how else are they all getting there? Makes no sense having a fleet of cars waiting around to take them.

I wouldn't expect the players to be there for the whole thing, they'll go for lunch with their families, bit of a chill out then they join the event again later on.

Agreed, the route is a shambles, but of course the majority of City fans are lapping it up because the club and Doug King can do no wrong at the moment.

The “can’t go into the town centre” argument falls a bit flat when they did for the League 2 playoff parade… not that 90% of this forum supported us back then

Can see it being carnage around the memorial so likely just sack off the parade, head there early and make a day of it. Hopefully decent weather.

Wondering whether we'll be able to take cans in or be only bought from stalls inside.

That's what I assumed, probably take a few and drink outside the cordon to start with then.

Yeah, I get that, but if they are taking the parade bus, isn't that still the parade?

I don't see the issue if the route if the aim is to get to hearsall. Plenty of places to stand.

Will be interesting doing a right by Moseley ave but I guess bus drivers are used to it.

£3.60 a pint sounds fair.
I might just sack the whole thing if I'm honest unless we get a stellar set list.

As for the festival. So far it says local bands etc.

Want to go to support the players but don't really want to stand about all day for the players to be on the stage for 10 minutes.

Godiva was shite even when they got some bigger names and it sounds the same.

I would much rather see the parade and watch the players with the trophy, than go to the Memorial park, for sure.

I do like the idea of going to the parade and then walking through the Earsldon Festival

I’m sure the crowd for winning the league title and promotion to the prem will be pretty much the same as our league 2 playoff win…

I reckon they'll be on stage for around 30 mins or so, but not before 4.30/5pm ish. Probably all introduced individually (and get their song) and last will be Grimes or Lampard who will come out with the trophy.

Was hoping to watch them set off from the CBS and then make our way down the the WM Park. But it doesn't actually start at the CBS according to this.

Logistically it’s going to start from the CBS. Players/staff will have to get to somewhere, board a big bus that is able to be stationary for the 20 minutes before, etc. Assume they just don’t want people turning up to the CBS.
I’ll be there. And if I’m wrong I’ll just have to make it to Parkgate Road before it disappears.

Good plan, it's only going to be travelling at walking pace so if it's no good at CBS just walk up Hen Lane I guess.

The parade bus isn't due at Hearsall Common until 4pm. Guess the players will then get shuttled to the WM Park by about 5.30-6pm for the finale of that.

Just hope there is plenty going and a decent line up on at WM Park, or it could be a bit boring until that point.

How does no one seem to be talking about the fact Doug King is charging everyone to go the memorial as well

Must be the first promotion parade in history that fans have to pay to attend
