EDIT: was down for all of 5 mins. Elon heard the fee was 750k and decided to turn it back on. He just posted “ #pusb”

Coventry City in talks with Hull over Kasey Palmer move

Turner just posted his article on the Hull interest. Once again no clue about what’s going on until others uncover it for him.

Missed all this today but having seen Robins comments about Palmer, coupled with the 92nd min sub the other night, guessing words have been exchanged.
That sub clearly wasn't one to waste time. Palmer was having a shocker towards the end of the game and kept getting disposessed and putting Oxford on the attack. Clearly Robins wasn't happy and dragged him.... Guessing it has stemmed further from there!?

I’ve got to say I’m pretty disappointed with him leaving - I know he is a frustrating player in terms of consistency but when he’s on it he’s great I think. I’d much rather keep him and him going leaves us with a little less depth in that attacking area. It’s a shame I reckon.

However I do think it’s telling that he hasn’t started in the league games, and he is very much a Viveash player, as was Collins and Dasilva, although Dasilva has performed well so far and does seem to be someone Robins likes himself.
Certainly Robins post match comments do seem to point towards ‘someone’s’ head being elsewhere (so could well have meant Palmer and his contract negotiations/not starting games) although he did stay on for 90-odd minutes.

Didn’t he refuse to sign a new contract? Or did he just want more money?

Would be a very good signing for Hull.

I trust we will sign someone who will improve the squad.

Writing was on the wall for Palmer when he got a new agent in January. No great loss in my opinion.

I like Palmer. But with the squad we are building we more constancy. Something palmer doesnt offer.

If he has asked for more money and we have said no. Fair play going and finding someone willing to pay more. Seams a win win for both player and club.

Palmer been another one who's a good servant but we've outgrown him

If/when we sign another CM, there's every chance KP doesn't even make the bench when all are fit

Good for both to move on

Inconsistent and injury-prone; if this move allows a decent CDM through the door, so be it.

Not sure why anyone thinks he'll be a big miss. Doesn't score enough, doesn't assist enough, doesn't play enough. Last season was the first time he'd ever played over 2,000 mins (22 90s) in a league season. He certainly has ability in flashes, but we're 2 seasons in now and he's never produced consistently for a period of time so letting him go is fine by me.

I don't think anyone (apart from Oggy) can say it's a big piece of the team gone, but him leaving certainly doesn't strengthen us at all. Quite the opposite. All of us don't really know what's happened but if we get another player in the next 24 hours I'll be fine with it. If we don't then I think most of us would have preferred him being here to not.

Gyokeres
Hamer
O'hare
Palmer

That's a lot of attacking talent we've lost.

Yes we've received good money and invested in some quality, but I still think our midfield isn't as good, only Sheaf has PL quality. (Hopefully we add some more tomorrow)

Tbf the interview w Sakamoto published today by the club states that he *did* break three bones in his back.
That sounds pretty serious to me and explains why the club didn’t confirm or deny any detail about his injury.

It would have occurred to most people that his career might be touch and go

I predict that he will be particularly good for Hull against us. He always seemed to put in extra effort against Bristol City.

I’d be really sad to see Palmer go. I find him a really fun player to watch - yes he’d lose possession when trying to create at times but he could also do / see things no one else in the squad could do / see.

plus we’ll always have this.

he was speaking broken English, but either way still not something to be plastered across an internet forum is it - very insensitive, inconsiderate and downright bad form

I like Palmer but let's be honest, of all the best moments of the past two seasons he's not often been involved. Didn't play in the run to the play offs. Even the Wolves game last season, the comeback happened after he had went off.

Good luck to him as I think he, despite appearances, is a committed player who works as hard as he's capable of.

I liked Palmer a lot more than most posters on here, I liked that he tried defence-splitting passes that most of our other players don’t see, but getting a decent fee for a bench player on a big wage that has less than a year left on his contract is a great bit of business.

Of course, it becomes a much worse piece of business if we don’t replace him and fail to sign anyone tomorrow. Let’s see.
