Alan Nixon (sigh) linking him with us

Wouldn’t be opposed to it tbh, decent option and seem to remember him having a stormer against Vik in the Play-Offs first leg and a chunk of the second - Imo that tie changed completely changed when he got booked and had to ease off a bit

Won their player of the season in 2021 and 69 Northern Ireland caps

Alan Nixon, it must be BS.

Would be ok with it. We can't pay fortunes for everyone so we need to be smart with how we build the squad. Probably about as good as you'll get in the free market for that position.

He's right footed isn't he? Would still like to see Binks come in and move Lati on. Would be more than happy with our 4 options then.

That would be easier said than done, Lati signed a four year deal and has settled near Coleshill

Depends what he wants. Can't imagine many footballers of his age want to be told they won't play much.

I still think he has a role to play as I can't see Binks coming back

Besides that point who is going to buy him out of a three year deal?

I was giving my ideal, its not an argument.

I'm sure plenty of lesser teams would take him fwiw.

Can’t imagine he envisions that role as being 4th choice CB (if we bring McNair in) or 6th choice centre mid!

Just had a gander at some of the prices people were suggesting we sell Latibeaudiere for in the 'Latibeaudiere to Sporting' thread. Now that made for some funny early morning reading.

3 years sat on a bench, or not even, and having the occasional appearance which sparks a song about your dick doesn't sound like the professional footballer dream does it.

Well for some, its probably a dream!

He seems like he has an excellent attitude though and a top pro. Can see why Robins likes him. He will want to play at least a part in most games.

I just have question marks over his quality. I know he was apparently injured at some point in the season…

Think best he'll get is backup RB. Even that depends on where Burroughs is at though.

Was one of the very few defenders I saw actually able to deal with Gyokeres. Intelligent defender who can read the game well.

Would happily move Lati on tbh, and if I was Doug I’d be willing to accept almost anything for him considering we bought him for 500k I believe. Seems a nice guy but he’s not quick enough for RB and not strong or tactical enough for CB. I imagine that if we buy a new CB and back up RB then he’ll spend about 1-2 hours on the pitch maximum all season?

Played most of his games for Boro as LCB in a 4 or middle of a back 5. He is right footed however so would cover both.

No chance.

One of the new leaders in the changing room and Robins loves his attitude ….

I agree with his shortcomings as a player but I don’t see Robins in any rush to move him on the cheap ….

He was OK until the last 10 games of the season. Limited on the ball but a decent defender. He had a better season than Binks who people are clamouring for.

I think there has been a lot of revisionism about Binks cause he clattered Bruno Fernandes at Wembley and played quite well when he come on

Before that I doubt many would have batted an eyelid eitherway had he come back or not

Lati has his uses, the importance of having a player who can slot in a number of positions can't be understated

Granted he is pretty unspectacular but he can do a job

Think he's a good young left footed cb tbh. Never let us down and plenty of room to improve. Wouldn't overpay but think he's far better than Lati.

We’ve just spent close to 5 mil on a young left footed centre half, what does that say for him if we sign Binks?

Lati is a decent enough CB when he keeps it simple enough, okish cover for a few positions as well. As a squad utility player he is about the level we can expect.

McNair is the "King" of Shithousing, makes Wilson look like a mere amateur.

We've spent the last few months demanding strength in depth, which implies rotation, and that good players will have to compete to get on the pitch. Pro footballers should expect it.

Now some people seem to be frightened about having exactly what we've been asking for.

Perfect Fadz replacement. 5 years EPL/Champ experience over our existing defence. Get him in.

Yeah, the major problem for him was when he was stuck on left hand side either as left CB or middle of three but teams would push him that side. The lad was continually played out of position, didn’t really get a break due to internationals and yet always gave his best. Still young as well.

ps would definitely take McNair though on right salary/deal

He won’t be 3 years sat on the bench though. He played about the 3rd most minutes last season. Robins will keep him as he’s versatile playing in at least 3 positions. He will only move on if there is a big offer for him.
