Yes, its an approximation of playing strength based off the results of other playing strengths. These can form a table which should be somewhere around the league table..

The more games played the more accurate it gets. The same argument can be made for the league table though.

The more games played in the league table the more accurate the table will become with players moving up and down when they play everyone with varying points or league position.

Do points carry over from the previous season? If not, why not?

In the first season I had no data to start from so everyone started off on the standard (1500P).

Now that we are one season in, everyone who finished in the division had their rating transferred with the only difference being is that everyones RD was reset back to 350.

This is a bit naughty setting the RD back to 350 for everyone but the system was originally made for a ladder system and not leagues. I can't find a way around this.

Any new teams that coming into the division will get a 1500 provisional rating and they will rise and fall whilst everyone finds their own rating. This is why Bury was stuck on (1500P) and Bolton Wanderers are not bottom.

We should have some interesting stuff to watch soon, if not already.

Anyway, back to the football.

Have you seen their investment in the team this summer?

First proper away game for me in a couple of years, can't wait! We should have enough quality in the squad to get the win so long as we defend as we have been (barring pompey mistakes)

Hope you are right. My first away game this season (been away on jollies). I do think Oxford will be one of the trickier away sides we face. though. I think their attack is better than their defence.

I just watched both of those videos and feel like I have learnt something today. Cheers Philosorapter. I was mesmerised by the last one, wouldn't it be awesome if someone did that for the top 20 teams in English football league history.

Is the Ben Woodburn they have the one from Liverpool? If it is, how did they get him?? Will need serious marking, might be worth doubling up on him.

Feel really negative about this and not sure why.

If I was to bet, I'd say 0-0 but I fear a 1-0 loss. Will be low scoring though.

Because he scored once for Liverpool? He was on loan in the Champ last year, has dropped down a level since that!

He looked awesome for the England u21's as well. And in fairness his Liverpool cameo appearances were always good. But as you mentioned, he didn't make it in the champ last year and now has had to drop down again. Shows that early signs of potential does not guarantee a top level player. I wonder if it all got to his head?

They were easy to understand, unlike the squiggly lines Philosrapter presents to us.

If you don’t mind a 20 minute walk Sandford on Thames is good and easy to get away from.

Will at least make the bench. I'd like O'Hara in ahead of him. Think this game will be a back and fore job.
