I like what I see of Obikwu, but it doesn’t look as if he’s going to get a chance here at the moment, so surely a loan, and possibly Dausch?

Apparently he had a loan sorted to Northampton before he got an injury, not sure what but by all accounts it was a pretty bad one. Shame as he could have done with the regular minutes

Why would we play Eccles when we have no cover in midfield but rest Lati who we do have cover for?

Also, Eccles has only played RWB before, RB is a bit different.
I think general consensus is that Lati isn’t effective at RWB or RB. I also think we have more cover in the midfield positions than at RB (regardless of the quality of the cover).

Our full backs play high up the pitch, which obviously requires mobility; Eccles has shown he has that, even if he doesn’t have MvE’s pace (but, who does?), I don’t think Lati has.

Robins will probably go with Lati at RB - unless we revert to a back 5 for this game - but it will likely result in Oxford targeting that side (their threat in the league game came from the flanks). Either way, I agree we need another RB and midfield option before the window closes.

Don't understand why there's no pay on the gate? Have they just got rid of it for this season?

Yeah he has. Would have preferred L1 or L2 but Ayr put in a good presentation to the agent and Ryan and was impressive. A strong team in their league and suggesting he’ll get game time and reevaluate in January. Marco Rus is there who he knows too and Burroughs not far so thought why not.

It’ll be my daughters first game tomorrow - mega proud moment, even if I highly doubt she’ll last the 90.

She’s 4 - any recommendations for pre game stuff? We’re not in the family stand (if that’s even open tomorrow) but my usual ST seat and we’ve sorted her one by me.

Does Sky Blue Sam still do a lap of the pitch pre game for photos etc? Is that even a thing?! Advice welcome!

I hope we play the strongest squad that we possibly can. I really want to make a cup run this season. Yes, I understand at the end of the day, battling for promotion is the ultimate goal, but still.

Also, due to some pretty severe personal things in my life these past few months(My girlfriend passed away, I was in deep dark depression, lost my dream job, etc) I need any kind of happiness and hopefully the Sky Blues can help provide that.

Come on boys!

With the international break not far off i wonder if Robins might keep things relatively unchanged at the back to try and build greater cohesion. It is quite striking how we can almost field an entirely changed 11 but still lack depth at CDM and RB, really needs addressing before the close of the window i think. I'd like to see EMC get a start tonight, preferably on the left of that's his stronger side too.

Sales look pretty horrendous on the website. Seems odd when we had almost 20k there for the Sheff Wed game last season, in similar circumstances.

This will be a second 11 starting. (if you can call them that) Kitching, Thomas, DeSilva, Baseete, Asante etc
Should still have enough to put Oxford out their misery.

Day after a bank holiday, last week of the summer holidays for kids. Not suprised at the low crowd tbh.

The Wednesday game also had the fall-out of the Palmer situation and our fans would've wanted to back him

Fingers crossed it works then, would be nice to make at leas the 3rd round and perhaps get a big draw. I recognise that it's a good opportunity to give minutes to players but i'm always a bit concerned by wholesale changes in defence. On the positive side it does show just how improved the squad appears to be now, with the exception of RB we can bring players in who aren't unknowns and who specialise in the position we're playing them in.
