When someone comes out with a comment like that they mean in the long run. People just love to start debates

I prefer current stats. 1 goal in their last 6 games says a lot.

I think that they have had many away games in a row.

2 home games this month. 1-1 with Bristol City and lost 2-0 to Portsmouth.

A draw against a play off chasing team then a loss against a relegation rival?

It's there in black and white (and green, red & yellow), 1 loss in 6 at home. I would class 6 games as recent form.

We'll be quite rightly favourites but these are the kind of games that can throw up a surprise. I'm more confident about getting results against Stoke (1/2/3 away in 6) & Derby (0/1/5 at home in 6).

We are odds against to win this one but were odds on to beat Preston. I still expect another win, am I delusional?

Hardest game out of the three remaining out of the five block.

We’ll need to be more clinical as don’t think we’ll get the same amount of chances especially in the air with Helik (fun stat we’ve scored the most headers in Europe in 24/25).

4-3-3 again, not sure if I’d change Eccles for Allen ( Sheaf won’t be ready).

Eccles played quite well on Saturday imo, I'd keep the team the same

They had a good run when Rowatt first came in but fell off a bit since.

Dovin
MVE Thomas Kitching Bidwell
Eccles Grimes Rudoni
Sakamoto Simms EMC

Collins
Latibeaudiere
Binks
Dasilva
Shea
Allen
Torp
Wright
BTA

3-1 win

That bench is unbelievable btw

Possibly. Their performances over the last four games have looked appalling though to be honest. As mentioned, they've only managed 2 shots on target over that period.

It potentially could be the ideal time to play them.

Same Team as Preston and hopefully Wright & Torp back on the bench.
Although I would be tempted to look at Jamie Allen in CM, and possibly BTA out wide (Oxford may target Sakamoto).

Had this conversation Saturday, he’s got a good problem to solve, think Patterson stays in , he can cover Clarke , and don’t think we need 6 midfielders in the squad ? rest of it about right, who’d of thought bassette wouldn’t get in when we first signed him,

Paterson was a liability on Saturday in my opinion, needs a few games with the 23s. As you say it’s a good problem to have.

I agree, its more beneficial to have Paterson on the bench than 3 CMs.

Everyone keeps saying this but its not really a thing that happens much any more, i can't even remember the last time a proper first team type player played in our u23s. I think Bassette who's first team but still very raw played one if memory serves and scored about 5 goals.
Looking at the pace they are played at i don't think there's too much benefit, he'll get more from training.

isn't Wilson's contract up in the summer? My guess is neither are particularly wanted by the club but no buyers. As Collins has longer to go on his contract he is 2nd choice as he will likely be around next season too.

Oxford just aren’t very good, we have to win. We gifted them goals at our place and still squeaked 3 points.

Really we need 3 wins from our next 3 to take us into the tricky run.

Oxford’s home form is impressive for a promoted side, only 2 places below us (10th and 12th). They are not to be underestimated and it will be a tough game!

With WBA away at Leeds and Blackburn home v Norwich, teams around us will be dropping points so our main job is to not lose.

It'll definitely be a tough game, but given their recent form it's one we should be getting three points from really. Said it a couple of times already but being limited to 2 shots on target over the past 4 games is genuinely atrocious by them.

Need to capitalise on the lack of form of others.

Wow, didn’t realise their form was that bad! They have had a few tough games but it’s evened out as they’ve played teams around them.

I can definitely see us winning against Oxford and breaking into the top 6 but end up losing to Robins’ Stoke.

I'd take a draw if we at least win the next home game.
A loss wouldn't be the end of the world, but it's very tight from 5th to 10th and we do need to keep up with the rest of the pack at this stage of the season, especially with tougher games around the corner

I doubt Bassette or Raphael will feature much for the rest of the season, I expect that provided there are few injuries the return of Sheaf, Torp and Wright will ensure that they don't even make the bench.

I'm not so sure. It will depend on our formation. If we play Simms and Wright up front there will be space on the bench for Bassette. If we only play 1 of them up front then I fully agree.

It's difficult to guess which way Lampard will set us up because Wright has been injured all the time he has been with us. We don't even know if he will play Wright towards the left, right or down the middle. But there's one thing for sure. We will have one of the biggest threats going forward.

They had a great run when their manager took over. Lost his first game to Leeds. Then won 5 drew 2 in the next 7. But since then they have been poor. Don't know if it is down to injuries but going from winning most games to struggling to even get a shot on target?

Personally just need to match or better a Blackburn or West Brom result. With their matches, we have a real advantage.

The pivotal moment in the next few weeks will be when we play WBA. Beat them and we should move above them if we haven't fluffed things between now and then
