Would be harsh on Eccles but if fit I think I'd be inclined to start Sheaf ahead of him as the only change.

Getting to the desperate time of the season where players will usually run until they drop to avoid relegation. We have to play a lot of clubs around the lower half who are potential relegation fodder. Birmingham last year with the (Wembley next match factor) shows that if you don't battle first you can come a cropper. Our own relegation battles in the past, show how any team can out perform their ability. Need to be on it from the start and play our football, as well as dig in. We are way better than Oxford, but not a three point certainty unless all our players turn up.

We could rally do with 3 points from Oxford, Stoke and derby as the next three games are going to be tough against three teams above us. Get max points from the first three gives us a bit of breathing space against the three above us

So you've added Wright to the bench then!

Same XI apart from swapping Allen in for Eccles.
A 2-0 win and hope Sheaf get a 30 min run out....would not use Wright as a sun until Stoke game unless we really need to.
Simms and EMC to score.

Tough game but I'm confident.
Think we'll be top 6 this time next week.

If we're going to get ahead of WBA now's our chance, 2 of their next 3 games are away at Leeds and Burnley.

Sheaf for Eccles to start

Wright and Torp on the bench to for JDS and Rod.

Be nice to be injury free and to bring 3 pts back home.

I wouldn’t bring sheaf in just yet! Build up his fitness again, can do without him getting injured yet again cuz we’re desperate for players back!

Another week on the training pitch with Frank & now things can slowly but surely take shape , with all the players on the grass .
A really exciting time to add the likes of Wright to our forward ranks , midfield with so many options , that we’ve never had before , especially the quality.
Saturday could be the day that we see these players really click & the goals start to flow ?

Whatever team we put out this should be 3 points in the bag. Oxford did well for a while but the grind of the championship is begining to tell. Confidence for them is slipping away. BUT we don't want to think it's an easy 3 pointer and must be on our game. Funny thing about football, you never know when your luck changes or on our current run comes to an end when you least expect it. Let's hope we don't drop the ball....

If Torp or Sheaf are fit I’d play them ahead of Eccles otherwise unchanged. Hopefully Haji on the bench for this one and can do the 20 mins Paterson did yesterday.

Id take a draw and beat Stoke at home, but think we can win this.

I’d remain the same starting 11. I saw a few comments on Eccles but he played well first half, made a good few challenges in the second. A touch pressed on the ball in the 2nd but did well. Sheaf isn’t match ready and to chuck him in without minutes is risking another setback, keep him rested with a sub appearance. Would be great to see Wright return for minutes also!

Oxford aren’t a high pressing team so I expect a similar game to Preston 1st half with space opening up.

I’d love to see Bassette and Raphael making appearances too, need to get minutes in these lads. Ideal game to keep energy high.

Not a chance that Sheaf starts against Oxford after just 2 minutes against Preston. He’ll have at least one 20 minute game before Lampard thinks of starting him (he possibly starts against Stoke but more likely Derby).
And Rodrigues wasn’t on the bench on Saturday..

Interesting that people think we were flying at the end of the playoff season, but in reality we only won 5 of our last 12 games (and only won 3 of our last 8).
We made the playoffs by only losing 1 of the last 12 while everyone around us screwed it up. It was good form but not spectacular.

We need to win about 6 games at least and some draws in our last 12 now.

Oxford are not a bad Championship side. They're also not a good Championship side.

Their biggest problem is scoring goals. Our defence should be able to cope with what they have. If we can put together just half of the Preston performance we should win this game. Our confidence is brimming and why not. Only Leeds are a level above us. We have the capability to beat anyone else.

But we all know football has a habit of kicking you in the balls when least expected. Think we will win. Can't see us losing.

It's Blackburn v Norwich and WBA v Leeds. Norwich have to win to keep a serious chance of getting to the playoffs. Win this and there's a good chance they will be just 1 point out of the top 6. Lose then it could well be 6 points out of it with 11 games to go.

Big game this. Win and we're in the top 6 unless both Blackburn and WBA also win. Think it would put us 2 points clear of 7th. Then it's home to Stoke and away to Derby.

The steam train is running.

Very close even game.....3-0

We're going to absolutely hammer someone soon. Next 4 games maybe. Wouldn't mind waiting until we play Sunderland. We're only 12 points behind them. We were 21 points behind them just 8 games ago. Keep this going and 4th isn't out of reach.

Totally agree. Treat every game as a cup final and I’m very confident we will be in the mix, and dare I say it - Wembley again bring it on

To be fair, anything above the dotted line was going to be an exceptional season for them and they are on course to achieve that with plenty of time to spare

For a club like them Rowett is about as good of a manager they could have got, it'll be a tough game but I think we should have enough to beat them

Like I said they're not a bad side. But the only way I see us not winning this one is if luck goes against us. They've scored 1 goal in their last 6 games. Before then they were flying after his appointment. 5 wins, 2 draws and just 1 defeat. That was to Leeds in his first game.

All away games tough in this league. I'm sure we'll treat with the respect it deserves and fancy us to come away with a narrow win. Might even say 2-1 again.
