Looking forward to this conversation coming up again for Leicester away.

The nonsense that away trips are a closed shop is ridiculous - the people that go week in and week out deserve an opportunity to get tickets to the bigger games ahead of the day trippers

As someone mentioned, over half of our games go to general sale, if you want more points, put in the effort.

Preston away on a Tuesday night - can’t wait to see the scramble for tickets then.

Leicester will give us over 3000, so it’s not gonna suffer like this one.

Guy on Twitter moaning that he has 2000 pts yet he couldn't get tickets, though some on 1600 did.

Can't get the angst, it's 1600 and above. Log on early enough and you'll get them.

I can't remember last time I missed out on an away game. You have to make the effort to log on early, especially at grounds with small allocations.

I was in a meeting this morning at 10 and said to my colleagues, hold on while I get tickets.

Well said - coming from someone who didnt get a ticket today.

People moan when it doesn’t suit them / haven’t got a ticket. Be glad we have full Allocation going to support, really not end of the world is it.

fully agree. Milwall in the cup midweek will get you 30 points and wexwill get a decent allocation of probably 3k.
lets see if those moaning make the effort to go to get their points up and a ticket

So where does it finish
You could have someone on 2200 points moaning they couldn't get a ticket cos someone on 2000 points did or someone on 1900 points moaning they couldn't get a ticket cos someone on 1700 points did
It would be daft to put in slots of say 100 for different times, I know it's not perfect what happens at the moment, but it works quite well in my eyes.
Also who's to say someone on 1600 points who maybe started being a season ticket holder say 4 years ago but has gone to every game they can, doesn't deserve a ticket

I always assumed the first points bracket would be set to have less people in than tickets available, so you dont get into a position of "someone on 2200 points moaning they couldn't get a ticket cos someone on 2000 points did".

Looks like the club fucked up and put the opening bracket for Oxford tickets too low..... some of the regulars with 2k+ points didn't get tickets as all sold out by 1015am (none were showing up online after this time).

See this is bollocks. As other people have said plenty have bought tickets way after this time. This on twitter at 11 for 1 .

If you are in that top points bracket, you should know how our tickets work by now. Not all tickets are released at once. They are regularly unavailable throughout the sale until more are added. I assume this is done on a b-by-block thing, and its to do with steward and staff costs. If the tickets say unavailable keep trying until the club confirms they've sold out

Nonsense. This will never happen due to different allocations at different grounds. Oxford has a smaller allocation than Derby for example. Not everyone is going to get a ticket.

There will always be some that cry about it on here and Twitter though.

"It isn't fair..." is probably their motto in life.

It doesn't work like that. First come first served for anyone who has 1600+ points. There will never been an allocation that satisfies everyone.

If you miss out then you weren't quick enough.

???

If the club sets the top bracket at 1600 then everyone above that should be able to get a ticket if they want one. Games should never sell out without reaching the 2nd bracket.

But you set the first bracket at a level dependent on the allocation.

So for example a very small allocation might be 2000, a larger allocation might be 1800. Just set it whereby there are less people in that bracket than there are tickets available so everyone in it will be able to get a ticket.

It is also the first time it's ever happened as far as I know.

Either they made a mistake by not having the top bracket slightly higher, or the extra 100 tickets is the difference between everyone on 1600+ being able to get a ticket or not.

The brackets aren't fixed top could be 1600 one week and 2200 the next. It's not unrealistic that the club would just set that top bracket to so everyone can get a ticket.

Personally, I think that is what normally happens and they've just underestimated the demand for Oxford. I cant remember another game thats sold out in first bracket.

It sold out in March or whenever it was so quickly as we were on a roll.

Not sure if they did underestimate demand, it's bascially a small ground so a small allocation, it's not too far away and easy to get to, makes it a desirable away day. I'm of the feeling that the point levels should be lowered anyway, give the opportunity for as many as possible to attend, especially for the long mid-week trips.

Luton was set to 1900, I was just below that, but still got a couple for myself and my boy.

We have been over this a thousand times in the past and probably will again many times this season, but back in November at Sunderland there were tons of empty seats around me. Same when we went to Burnley mid-week in November.

There will be always be games that some fans will miss out on. That's just the nature of the beast nowadays. Really can't see why people moan about it.

And they did at Luton in April. I think that was the first time it was set above 1900 all season. I would imagine the same thing will happen again come March/April if we are in with a shout of promotion/playoffs. It's early in the season, good weather, Oxford is just down the road, that's why it sold out so quickly.

We are very good at selling out games close by but often disappoint when some travelling is involved.

Our followings to Boro and Sunderland in League matches have been poor in recent years.

But that's the point. People are putting in the miles to go to Sunderlands, Blackburns, Prestons etc when lots choose not to. They should have the option for what is essentially first refusal for a ticket to Oxford.

Setting the bracket at 1700 would likely have done this (this again is dependent on whether these extra tickets they've found for today tip the balance for numbers in the top bracket).

You're missing my point. I understand the reasons its likely to sell out I also understand the points system.

People aren't moaning about the system here(I'm sure some are). The issue seems to be the fact the capacity was less than the people in the first window. So you ended up having people on 1600 getting tickets when people on 2200 missed out. My point was I think they underestimated the amount in the first bracket who would have been buying (they must have to set it as 1600).

Fwiw I got my ticket at 10.01, I'm not moaning about the system. My point at the very begining was I assumed there would always be enough tickets for those in the first window.

Tbf I did.

My assumption was 1600 tickets, remove 800 for supporters clubs, 100 for players friends and family, 100 for Overson and his mates and then the remaining 600, they would see what the top 600 point holders had and window one would be that number.

*edit - 590 as we need to hold some back for Grennan, the mad hatters, the nonce dummer and that Jatty don't care bloke too.
