Glad playoff wright is back. Offside constantly and missing a sitter.
Eccles bottled everything
Esse, I know he annoyed people trying stuff but he made a few good chances happen
Grimes, fed up of his weird floaty crossing.
Rudoni, why shoot at an open goal when you can try and take everybody on instead?
Mve, poor

Wright 4

Most average with a couple of standouts.. Wright looked up for it which was nice to see given how he has been recently but my god was he arse in front of goal. Esse needs to read the game better. Trying to dribble it out of defence solo is suicidal and almost cost us.

I’ll put as much effort into rating them as they do with their performance.

Shite.

Not sure how Wright looked up for it. He couldn't be arsed to stay onside.

I mean that's Haji full stop though. The bloke doesn't know the offside rule.

Most of the season he's looked disinterested and strolled about, where as today he actually got the ball and drove with it trying to make things happen.. he just had absolutely zero quality on the ball.

This game we needed height for set pieces, lati in was not the correct decision (not that he did anything wrong). Though we got a clean sheet
Thought Wright looked better than he has for a while, but is caught offside so often and it's frustrating.
The performance from the team was better, but not winning against Oxford today or at all this season, is so poor.
They should have had at least one more red realistically, but I don't see how that would have changed the result tbh.
Things are going to get really toxic very quickly I fear from here, I don't think many thought we would not win today

You can see exactly why Esse won’t be playing in the premier league any time soon. Decision making when in his own is genuinely terrible.

He needs to get back out on the left, Sakamoto isn’t affecting the scoresheet at all.

Wright missed some chances today and too cap it all cleared Rudonis shot that looked to be going in, away for Oxford. Just wouldn’t fall for us today.

MVE - 2. Fucking useless again. Backwards, backwards, throw in the odd pointless long throw in, backwards. Repeat.

CBA with the rest.

As every away fan has been singing for the last 2 months. “Top of the league, your’e having a laugh”

Van Ewijk 5, shocking first touch
Woolfenden 6, no first touch
Latibeudiere 6, very poor first touch
DaSilva 6, too easily caught behind
Grimes 6, crab impersonation
Torp 6
Eccles 6
Esse 7, proper footballer
Sakamoto 7, very good
Wright 5. Seems frightened of scoring

Rudoni 6
Simms 5
Yang na

Confidence looks shot but too many players don't seem to have basic skills

Rushworth 6
Had nothing much to do

van Ewijk 4
Marked down for fannying around with it too much at the end whatever happened to just crossing it into the box

Woolfenden + Lati 7
Solid

Dasilva 6
Was alright didnt really put a foot wrong but nothing exceptional

Grimes 7
Was trying hard to make something happen was let down by all those in front of him

Torp 6
Was decent not quite back to his best yet though

Sakamoto 6.5
Again was decent, battled hard no presence in the box for him to cross it to

Eccles 6.5
Worked hard and put in a decent enough performance but for me not enough on the attack needs to do more

Esse 5
Poor positional sense, took on his man frequently, beat him less frequently, was trying but not a great showing today

Wright 3
Rating boosted by the slight bit of desire and hunger he showed, was Oxford’s best CB, wonder if we could swap him and Bobby around

Rudoni 4.5
Nothing really fell for him, too many touches trying too hard to look flashy just stick to the basics

Simms and Minny N/A
Not enough to judge

Referee 7.5
Decent referee today missed a Penalty shout and another Red card, but all in all mostly a decent performance from him

Shit.

Rushworth MOTM for the throw in and seemingly being the only one who throught it was worth getting on with things towards the end of the game.

5's and 6's, maybe 7 for the CB's and Eccles. We possibly picked the wrong match to focus on tightening up! I thought Lati deserved his place and did well but we do miss Thomas at corners.

And lo, it came to pass, that Lampard, like Robins before him, forsook The Barnsley Boys.

The over reaction is pathetic.

Yes it was frustrating but ffs grow up.

Another day we win by 3 or 4

Fine margins …..

We will beat Boro

Are we still top ?

If we beat Boro will we still be top ?

Top with 15 matches to go and people behave like morons. Booing the team, calling for Franks head.

Anyone who went to that game and has even a modest understanding of the game can see we had the chances to win, we were totally dominant but we didn’t take them ….. much more to like than dislike today.

A bit harsh ...we played well...all that was missing was some luck. It happens. Luck was out and some bad finishing.

Today was better than Norwich and QPR.

On another day we win that easy. We might be half as good going forward next week and win.

Thought Haji Wright was good in every part of his game apart from finishing.

Not gonna slate the players for that today.

We looked solid. They never got a sniff.

Team is low on confidence.

After 30 mins... Oxford realised they could do us.

We had a chance to inject energy with Oneyka.

We didn't.

Modest understanding???

Do you modestly understand that Onyekas a defensive midfielder!! Who does not create or score goals often!

And woukd onky have been brought on once we were up! Not the player to bring on when chasing the game.

We wernt shit. We just wernt as good as we needed to be

A couple of moments of brilliance but like you say, the decision making of a playground prima Donna. Surprised Lampard didn’t haul him off sooner than he did.

I hope when he came off Onyeka kicked him up the arse.
