Having a chat with someone down the pub tonight and we reckon in our premier league days at least 90% of outlet overseas signings were total rubbish. Other then ndlouv, possibly hadji and Roland neilson we are struggling with anyone decent. Plenty of tripe though!

Roy Wegerle and Chippo? I would also put forward Isaias, I thought he had ability that we just didn't use.

Robbie Keane, George Boateng....come on, I suspect there's a few out there if you try (you'll soon retract your hypothesis!!)

Do players like Wegerle count, he'd already been playing English football for 6 years prior to signing for us, the better test would be considering those who either joined straight from overseas teams or have very little English football experienced.

Soltvedt, Ndlovu, boateng, Hedman....I would exclude Nilsson as he's already had 4 years experience with Wednesday

Point proven! Jones?! Chippo was here to keep hadji company, Jarni is being a WUM, Isaias wasn't a centre half, konjic was crap and Wegerle a makeweight for Gallagher.

The main point is most were poor;

Abromovic
Jol
Van Gool
Kaiser
Isaias
Perdomo
That Russian Gould signed
Clement
Norman
Them two from Central America that Richardson signed
Zuniga
Moldovan
Konjic (sorry he was crap)
All those goalkeepers after relegation

The list could go on an on

I remember when legend Trifan Ivanov was on trial...a mistake that we never signed the Bulgarian legend.

Who was the hapless centre half who made a debut at old Trafford?

In the premier league in the 90's I disagree I think the vast majority of better players were British.

I thought Safri was a quality player, even though I'd forgotten about him until the other day. Very popular at Norwich as well. Just went about his business in a quiet efficient way.
