Yes, quite clearly encouraging it by saying I would test something.

Have a word, your desperation to have a an issue with me is embarrassing. How many people have mentioned vpns on here? What about the mention of kodi and streams, seems you haven't seen those.

Avoiding geo-blocking isn't illegal, it's against the TOS of the service, that's it.

I suppose it would be agains their TOS and they could simply cancel your account. Perhaps you're obtaining goods by fraudulent means? But who would take you to court at the end of the day....I mean, you're indirectly paying the FL to watch their stream. It's not as if you're watching it for free.

Sorry if it has been asked already but does anyone know whether it will apply to Channel Isles?

Suggest you go to the club website and see if it will allow you to subscribe Steve. At the very least youll be like most of us and get full highlights after the game has finished.

It doesn't apply to Isle of Man, even though the website stated "outside of UK and Ireland" they have decided to redefine geographical borders...

I've sent an email to iFollow & EFL for all the good it will do, but I suspect we are s*** out of luck. Don't get me wrong, I understand why restrictions need to be in place to protect the clubs match day revenues, but for me to get to games I have to take 3 hour Ferries followed by 2 hours drive. I'm clearly not a committed enough fan to be getting a ST under those circumstances!

I suspect closer to the time there will be more info as to whether VPN etc will work - I am sure there will be people with live streams out there - but to be honest I would rather pay my dues for the service. It is very frustrating

Oh Ffs so I can't illegally steal these games for free from the Channel Islands?

Don't know why I bother

Nothing wrong or illegal watching games through a VPN. You've paid to watch so you aren't hacking in or watching them for free which would be illegal.

A word of warning though, Netflix can now detect if you are behind a VPN and block your access so the technology is out there should they choose to use it. Personally, as long as they are getting paid I'd be surprised if they would bother

The EFL have sold the rights to broadcast games in UK & Ireland (and islands) to Sky. They have then sold the remaining overseas rights to iFollow. So by paying iFollow to watch the games in a location where Sky have already paid for those rights is certainly a breach of iFollow's obligations with Sky, and most likely breaking some obscure UK legislation as well.

I can understand the rights argument when a game is on Sky, how often will CCFC in League 2 be Live on Sky next year?

Seriously who gives a toss!!!

Are we really that bothered about poor old mr murdoch getting screwed over ... or even coventry missing out on that persons £20 ( seeing as most of the time we are arguing about not giving money to SISU next season anyway!! ) if you want to watch it via a VPN then go ahead, people that like watching games in a stadium will continue to do so , so it really isn't gonna change that

There will always be ways round it though. Especially if paying over £100 or so for the year.

I don't give a toss about Murdoch getting screwed over, but I am not going to tell people that it is not illegal to do so even if you have paid.

Myself I'll be more than happy to pay for it if I can get a working VPN solution...

I think maximum that will happen is your account gets banned or you get a warning like netflix.

The app on my phone is still the old one and the latest news is Doyle signing, so I doubt anything will happen until they eventually update the app.

yeah they are dragging their heels with mobile apps

looking at other clubs forums and people can sign up with a uk credit card and address as long as i.p is abroad

but if the club then takes money and shuts down vpn access come first game of season no one can really claim their money back!

Connecting with an American IP shows the page and takes you to the form, I'm too scared to try and sign up and pay $140 just yet though.

Kodi is just a software, it's the add ons that makes it all up, if any of our games are aired in the world, then they'll be no worries finding a stream.

And I only need the away games

They aren't aired on Sky or anything, they will be subscription only to our iFollow online.

I wonder if you need a foreign address / bank card too
