absolutely.

My lad was given 3 free tickets for our local ice hockey team. He now has an annual pass...

I've spent way way more money than i want to think about supporting CCFC over the years, purely because my primary school was given free tickets and i was taken for several games when i was 10

Same here. My Dad is a Chelsea fan and should have been the normal route for me... (un) fortunately he used to get discounted week night tickets through work when we were in the Prem and I was a kid, and that meant I turned my back on a future of European nights away at the Nou Camp & Allianz Arena, and instead meant cold Saturdays at Wycombe and Forest Green. Ironically, I have managed to twist his arm into coming to City games with me, so jokes on him really.

£10 hospitality too. Tempted to do that to avoid the knobends that turned up to community day last year.

I paid for hospitality last year, met Biamou when he was presented with the motm. Decent day apart from the result.

So yes they are giving away 12000 free tickets, who may or may not turn up. The season ticket holders are included in the 20000 total too. So no the vast majority will not be new paying customers. Yes it is carefully projected PR - but why not, been way too much gloom around our club does't hurt to have some light. Give a large number out in the PR , it encourages excitement and others to go. It becomes an occasion.

It is a great initiative by the club. It encourages people and in particular the kids to get involved with CCFC - important for the very future of the club.

To politicise it a little, then it also makes a statement to various stakeholders within Coventry as to the importance of CCFC to the community. Also to the EFL etc. At a time close to when decisions need to be made

It costs the club not just the free tickets but also the costs of extra stewarding etc. Whether or not they turn up they have to now plan for at least 20000 attendance not 11000.

Undoubtedly the F&B take will be up, CCFC i assume still benefit by a fraction of it but could wasps be persuaded to make a donation of the profits they make to SBITC?

The club has got plenty wrong over the years but not this

No, £10 gets you a padded seat, programme and then you can use the better bars, see the motm award. It's great value for money.

I messaged the club and was told the club Coventry and legends both include the post match interview with the MoM too. Just guess it is the block you sit in. On the pics the legends one looks much nicer

Great shout - thanks. I said to my wife about coming to this one as she's not massively fussed but didn't want to sit on her own so only if the seat next to us was free. She can now have my season ticket and sit with dad/daughter and I'm in hospitality too! I'd have bought a programme and a coffee anyhow, so that means I get in the padded seats for the same £5.

I've got a vague memory of Club Coventry being started as a more relaxed version without such a strict dress code but I could have completely imagined that.

Never heard of it but the legends lounge is very expensive and having been in there for many a year the club Coventry sounds a cracking idea as long as the knuckle draggers don’t ruin it.

Think legends is sold out, just club Coventry left. We'll be doing it, not least as the bar and the casino are going to be chaos. No doubt that as we have STs we'll be doubled counted

This may be of no consolation to you, but good luck with your arranged marriage, anyway.
