Yet another childish post showing a vendetta against a particular poster. Do you genuinely believe we have the quality within the squad to finish in the top 2 this season?

The target always seems to be finishing in the playoffs, yet only 1 team out of 4 goes up. Anyone would think finishing 3rd-6th equals automatic promotion.

Well if that is the case we are better just missing out every season.
Two year plans never work in this league.
The reason being if you have a couple of desent players they are snapped up by another team, then you have to start again.

i agree there, the playoffs score the shit out of me, i want top 2!

i genuinly think we will be top 6 minimum and think we have a chanc eof autos, i am basing that on what i have seen, not blind optimism

if others disagree thats fine but anyone predicting us less than top 8 is just wayyyyyyyy too negative imo

If we don't finish top 6 will you be calling for Mowbray out?

I think we have a great chance of play offs, this is our best opportunity since relegation. The league this year is poor with the teams expected to do well not started as they had hoped and we have made a good start.

why so rude? and yes i believe we can finish top 2, i have said it on this forum many a time, maybe even in this thread already. you talk quality..do gilligham have more quality than us? burton? wallsall?

wigan, sheff utd and swindon i could see an argument for, they are biggest rivals for top 2 imo and we are above most of them, should their fans write off top 2?

as for your last line i already told you playoffs are scary.

Based on our record in front of big crowds, the play offs would be a nightmare!!

I'd say a top10 finish would be great progress compared to the recent dross.

of course it would be progress. finishing 16th would be progress, i just think we are capable of even bigger margin of progress

I do think we can finish in the promotion places for sure. Just think that we may well just miss out. This is Coventry City after all. Wouldn't be right for things to go our way.

Probably come down to the last match of the season, where we only need a draw to secure promotion.

95th minute, 0-0, City fans jumping up and down like crazy in anticipation of the final whistle, but then a long hopeful punt by their keeper bounces off the ref's baldy head and lands right at the feet of their lanky striker, who hasn't scored a league goal since 2007. He is 10 yards offside, but the the linesman doesn't spot it and the striker tries to lob Burge, but the ball hits our keeper smack bang in the face, rebounds back to the striker and the ball ricochets into our net. 0-1.

Miss out on promotion and are condemned to the play-offs, where are heads drop like a stone and we lose both legs 7-0, for a 15-0* aggregate score.

*Ref has a grudge against Cov, so awards the opposition an extra goal.

And that's the optimistic version.

of course we might miss out. its a crazy league like championship this year. no standouts(so far)

but i think if we got neutrals to pick out3 standout teams this season we could have a good chance of being in theirs. so we gotta be in with a chance of top spots

If we reach the play offs, I would consider that a successful season for us, whether we went up or not. It would also be a better finish than I expected at the start of the season. Way too early for me to start believing it will happen though.. (after beer o'clock is better..)

if only that was true though stupot, the only thing you enjoy is putting down promotion chances

i have never seen you happier than the time council bailed you out with a 10pt deduction to end our playoff hopes

i just dont understand how you dont want ccfc to do well. its weird

Not as weird as seeing things that aren't there, of which there was an Olympic event. You would be nailed on for gold.

Without the 10 point deduction we still wouldn't have finished in the top 6 or have you forgotten that Leon Clarke got injured and missed the last 8-10 games?

without deduction there is no way to say how morale would affect form. you know this too deep down.i dont claim we would have 100% made them and nor should you claim they were never on.

but i do like your gold medel line.

I would agree with you Otis .....except now we have TM in charge the dream changes to romp to the title scoring 120 goals. Bury all the bogeys we have. And Newcastle n Liverpool so happy they let us keep Armstrong n Kent in the championship
Ok it's a dream but I am more optimistic than I have been for years. I had is down as a mid table side but all being well we should make the play offs and of we can start picking up points away then an automatic does look possible

I love it when the negativity band get made to look like idiots again, didn't people learn there lesson from preseason when they were moaning about how shit we are and how we wouldn't score any goals this season.
