I didn't like him but you argue SP has sent our top scorer back to his club. Josh mcquiod.

Its criminal, imo Madine hasn't done enough to justify us paying a fee, unless we can get a deal similar to Nouble I'd leave him. Probably just the Pressley factor hampering him though. It's hard to score goals when we only create a couple of chances a match at best.

Nouble always plays out wide ???
I thought most wingers were small and mobile while big forwards are normally in the middle.

noubles only played out wide the last 3 games, the rest he's played up top. Mcqoid made a few of his appearances in midfield too.

Didn't he play wide right earlier in the season? I thought he was playing left back on Saturday.
He always looks useful but nobody helps him.

Don't think so, played striker in 5-3-2 and 4-4-2

No he initially played up front, unfortunately and a bit like nimely, he likes to turn and run with the ball so he naturally drops deep or wide to get space to turn. that's why pressley brought in madine, because none of our other strikers like to play with their back to goal and get themselves in the box.

Probably get bored of waiting for the ball to come over the half way line and into the box.

looked back and mcoid scored 3 in 4, the 4th being a 0,0 at MK, then got dropped to the bench for the Gillingham game ,that's how you encourage a player isn't it .

A few of McQuoids goals were shocking. That goal at Swindon was awful, the keeper made a howler, the tap in from a yard against Crawley, a goal which should have been saved against Exeter.

He's missed a fair few chances and it's down to him being a terrible finisher.

I don't think the strikers we have are by all means poor players, but the lack of service is the key problem. Madine is the type of striker who would score goals for fun if he was fed the service, unlike Wilson and Clarke who could make chances themselves.

Not signing a creative midfielder to replace Baker and Moussa was our biggest problem.
For Pressley to say O'Brien is a replacement for Baker is laughable. Completely different!

Strikers need chances.
Our strikers need to be in a 442 with crosses flying in for Madine.

IMO Madine and Nouble just don't work together, so you would need to choose 1 and stick with him then either play Jackson or sign someone.....you'd also need an entirely new midfield to create.

However, regardless of service, those strike rates are very poor.

Agree with you regarding the midfield but I think Madine and FN can play together if it has the midfield supplying them.

Thanks to Wikipedia, here is a comparison of career stats (minus CCFC figures) v this season. Note: the goals per games have been rounded up / down.

Jackson: 107 in 317 (1 in 3) v 3 in 21 (1 in 7)
Nouble: 13 in 127 (1 in 10) v 4 in 13 (in in 4)
Madine: 51 in 203 (1 in 4) v 3 in 10 (1 in 3)
Miller: 54 in 223 (1 in 4) v 2 in 12 (1 in 6)
Tudgay: 88 in 395 (1 in 4) v 1 in 11 (1 in 11)
McQuoid: 22 in 175 (1 in 8) v 5 in 15 (1 in 3)

Obviously these stats have to be kept in context; some games have been played at a higher level than L1, some lower. Regardless, it seems to me that the players are generally performing as expected. Nouble, Madine, McQuoid fractionally above their career average, Miller fractionally below, Jackson and Tudgay significantly below.

Two things stand out. One is the imbalance of the squad. Why have 6 strikers in your first team, 2 of which were the best finishers you've ever seen, 2 of which were marquee signings? How can they expect to perform when they are in one week and out the next? Secondly, the career stats show that we have not signed a 20 goal a season striker. Just several 10 a season strikers and a couple that even Clive Platt / Trevor Benjamin / Roy O'Donovan would have outscored. His signings have been weak all round, and his lack of eye for a forward is glaringly obvious.

I used to think half of the above names weren't good enough but I bet if they suddenly signed elsewhere they would start looking decent. I think it's SP. He can't get the best out of them and look at Monday night, out best striker we have in Nouble and he plays him out wide. SP out!!

It's the manager, not the players. Simple as that.

My god, isn't Pressley the most annoying and frustrating manager we've ever had?! Strikers thrive off confidence and confidence is obtained through scoring goals. McQuoid's goal scoring record when he joined was very good only for him to be dropped inexplicably by that indecisive cock we have as a manager.

Is it 4-4-2? No I'll go 4-5-1.. Hang on no I'll go 4-3-3 and play two wingers out wide. Players will be banished from this club as soon as I can move them on l. Jackson and Miller can leave. Actually I'll bring then back in. Tudgay can go. Oh so fit I'll bring him back in. What a game, maybe he and the other ten had at Walsall I should probably reward them wll by giving them a start in the Swindon game. Oh shit I forgot about my best buddy Webster and that Pennington is actually shit at right back. I'll do that, that should do the trick.

Cannot wait until he goes the useless prick.

Most appear to be calling for his head on social media LJC but not in the terraces. Hopefully that will change within the next couple of games. Anything less than 4 points against Yeovil and Gillingham is not acceptable,

Is there actually anyone left on the terraces?
