The chief piss takers need to leave, probably in the summer assuming we can find someone daft enough to take them. The chairman has clearly been taken in by Stone Cold and probably a few agents in thinking that it's a great 'deck'.

He has proven he knows nothing about the game. My concern is he hinders a rebuild by sticking by these waste of space players.

Said it elsewhere but the back room probably needs a clear out of the old regime with Lampard free to bring in his own staff. We’ve already seen the calibre of coaches are much better.

I'd like to see Will King and Sprout given senior positions personally.

Not really, no. We finished nine points off, we spent very little time (if any?) in the top six. I expected more if I’m honest.

Do you believe the cup run effected our season eventually and played a part in our small squad falling away ??

I do

So you'd have to say we lost what is now Europe's most lethal striker , the championships best midfielder but finished 6 points worse off than the playoff season and got to a FA cup semi final

it was a success in reality

I saw it as a season of progress overall and expected us to come out firing at the start of this season and to easily make the play-offs.

12 points from those 8 games is an underperformance no doubt, not quite a disaster but it's underachieving for sure.

Yeh i thought we slightly underachieved last season but we had a great cup run so i was prepared to let it slide, even though i thought the end of the season was awful. We should however, having spent another £15 million-ish on top of what we already had, been ready to go this season and we just weren't. everything looked way off.

Then I'm not sure why people even talk about last season negatively then , these players showed they were good enough , I think the bigger problem as stu alluded to is the squad lacks some balance .. also players performing to a lower standard than last year in general (MVE prime example )

I said it before as well but I think the huge focus/target on promotion by the club/King was detrimental. He should have just let us get on with it without setting a target like that.

In reality we had the same amount of points after 14 games this season as we did after 15 games last season, the main difference was we were drawing a fair few last season early on

The cup run was extremely fortunate and ultimately consisted of one win that you wouldn’t have expected us to get. Everyone apparently hates me for pointing it out but you have to take the emotion of a cup run out of the equation when you’re assessing the manager and squad.

I can appreciate the extent of the turnover from losing/replacing Vik and Gus, and it’s why I wasn’t too upset with finishing 9th (obviously the cup fun helped too). It’s why I wasn’t calling for Robins to go either. But we were running out of excuses by November of this year.

They showed they were good enough to finish 9th! People might have reasonably expected us to do better this season if we added to the squad, or if our existing players kicked on, but neither of those things happened.

The level of criticism you level at our squad of players is unwarranted & unjustified.
A good centre half & a centre mid will transform a team that already carries a decent goal threat.
Goals For 8th/24

The only difference seems to be more focus on possession and even more crosses.

My overriding feeling is that it's very dull under Frank so far.

I miss the high turnover, fast transition football of peak Robins.

The fast transition football of robins had well gone his style now was at least as dull as this.

So what we are saying is the only reason we won games was because of O hare ?

So cal held the entire team together ?

Honestly that's a ridiculous suggestion and I like him
Not the only reason, but he was the catalyst. He helped us link up midfield and attack, he got the best out of players like Sakamoto (until he got injured). Palmer had to up his game too, as he actually had competition. It's not just about goals and assists (and he got some really important ones in that run) but how he helped us press from the front, keep possession ticking over in the final third, his link up play with Sakamoto and Milan should not be ignored. The amount of touches he had in the penalty area per game. The fact he would run behind the striker.

The facts remain we won over half of our games he started, compare with less than a third when he didn't.

O'Hare is gone, but we desperately need a replacement, Rudoni isn't it. He's not a number 10, he should be played further back with either Sheaf or Eccles (or even better a replacement) and a proper 10 brought in.

Palmer hasn't even been in the match day squad for Hull since mid December, I guess Selles doesn't rate him.

You're being over critical. Unnecessary in my opinion. Yes we are a couple of key positions light but it's not the disaster you wish to convey.

There are too many players in there who can't perform consistently and go missing during games. It doesn't matter who the manager is if the problem of them being easy to crack is still there.

Stronger characters are needed on the pitch to help the less experienced ones through matches. For example it seemed like once they had a man sent off we got confused and didn't know how to play against 10 men. Bizarrely it might have been easier to stick against 11
