I think Frank has steadied the ship hasn't he?
12 points from 8 games.
Unbeaten in 3. with only 1 goal conceded.
He has been without Wright for all those games and EMC for the last couple.
Hopefully a few good signings to come in this window.

To be honest, given we have played 5 times against bottom 4 teams, in those 8 games I would expected a similar points return had Robins been still at the helm. Frank has been fortunate to have had a very kind run of fixtures.

Same frailties remain, still trying to play a brand of football that is incompatible with our squad, I'm not seeing much difference between Robins and Lampard at the minute. The only thing it has done is further highlight that the deck is nowhere near top 6 quality.

I think in all honesty it’s hard to criticise Lampard too much. Points back considering where we were, doesn’t seem to have changed much if at all.

Some players are playing better, some haven’t improved sadly.

He wasn’t my first or second choice but he’s done alright and think we’ll see the best of him when he can get the players needed to match what he wants tactically out the squad.

And if he doesn’t we can always go again on the manager circus.

Rudi, Dovin. Arguably EMC but hadn't really been given a chance before. Beyond that, nobody really stepped up. Possibly Lati.

Mason-Clark is the obvious one and Rudoni.

Outside of that I think I’d also say Bidwell (hasn’t featured much before) and Dovin (but again very early doors).

Think a couple of others have played better but also worse under Lampard and some like Sheaf have high rock bottom

Mason-Clarke I think just needed a run at LW, whoever was manager he’d have got that with Wrights injury. It’s not like he was playing but badly, he just wasn’t getting on in his position.

Rudi maybe. Dovin and Bidwell look the same a they ever have to me.

Pre Frank coming in people here were saying this was an easy run of fixtures which we would get maximum or near maximum points from.

Since then wins haven’t been convincing. We’ve been unable to beat 10 man teams. There’s the same slow play during games and a lack of moral fibre when we go behind.

To me there seems little difference to Robins, Carr or Lampards stewardship. Wash rinse and repeat as they say.

People need to stop making out he's inherited Russel Slades coventry city ffs they finished 9th and reached a semi final, they are top 6 in all the stats maybe the fucking players should start taking their chances and start defending how they did for much of last season

The players need to start doing their fucking jobs that we've seen them do many times before

The only difference seems to be more focus on possession and even more crosses.

My overriding feeling is that it's very dull under Frank so far.

I miss the high turnover, fast transition football of peak Robins.

Team that beat Leeds, not sure if fans think palmer is the greatest player in history but there isn't wholesale changes here

Long story short , the players are letting the club down rather than lacking ability ..

Agree to some extent -
But even that win wasn't a great performance - That win was very similar in reverse to a lot of our performances this year. And remember - it was a total anomaly result compared to a few before and most games after.
We put a couple of chances away then we were holding on for most of the game. Bidwell producing a once in a lifetime goal line clearance.

Yes - Plus, the fine margins that we are/have been just on the wrong side of, were in our favour that day.
Some say you make your own luck.
We just have not had the desire and confidence to try to do that.

We beat Leicester too with nion the same players , what I mean is there aren't enough changes in the squad to go from playoff contenders until April to absolute shit .. the players are letting the club down , the fans and the manager/s down

Robin's expensive subpar deck.
Which is a big part of why Robins is no longer here.

One criticism I have was that he played Collins when the club should have told him that he was in the bomb squad for being shit and we signed a £2m keeper so you’d think he should play that guy.

Played Collins too many games which lost us points while he was at the helm. Should have dragged Collins off at half time at Portsmouth. Played JDS too many games. There was points there for the taking.

You could say he was listening to Carr but he should make his own decisions and also like any incoming manager, watch footage on the clubs previous games to make your own opinions and it was glaringly obvious to see to not play those two players.

I’m actually really worried about our position considering the teams we have played. People will say it’s negative, but with a hard run of games I’m sure we’ll be in a relegation scrap.

Frank’s start has been average. Results OK, underlying stats good, worrying inconsistency at times (Portsmouth, Cardiff).

The chance to get anything this season is close to slipping away.

It’s now about whether he can use the next two transfer windows to mould the squad to his ideas and make us a top 6 outfit.

And realistically we should’ve won that game despite being poor.

One off performances aren’t proof of anything.

I just don’t think you can judge a manager when they’ve got the same lacklustre players the last manager had. Don’t think the new manager bounce is what it used to be, players nowadays are far too pampered to really give a toss if someone else comes in. Let’s see what happens after the window.

Fully behind him though. Seems fully invested.

Would pull you back to the later bit on your post for that though.

He’s got barely any time on the ground with the lads, first person he’ll rely on is the Caretaker coach. Rightly or wrongly, you’d go his his input. Now he’s had more times he’s taken them both out and not swapped it back.

Lampard has been here 5 weeks. Has spent most of his time in a busy schedule preparing and setting for the next game. I doubt he's had time to even look at all the players properly.

Improvements?
EMC has come out of his shell completely.
Wide players have generally improved as a goal scoring threat.
Some signs of defensive improvement but a long way to go.
Marginally better use of subs.

The same or worse?
Very slow, negative midfield work.
Unmotivated players and a dour management style
Lampard has poor media communication skills and a bit of a depressive demeanor which won't endear him to fans if it carries on.

We need to see Wright and EMC back and what Lampard does re transfers on January and over the summer.

Sakamoto’s goal was easily the best chance of the game lol, he was about 2 yards out with no keeper to beat.

We created 3-4 good chances second half that should have given us at least one goal if not more.

Haji played wide and scored 16 last season, sakamoto scored several before injury.. EMC had no choice but to come out of his shell as he was only playing because haji was injured

Wouldn‘t be surprised if nothing happened in January, this seasons gone, we’re not getting anywhere near top six so why panic sign players, we’ll just make do with this lot until the summer then hopefully get some help,
