Needs to be widened again..I think its far to narrow at the moment..fitted thorns down the middle diamond play but not when we need width..it looks so small

Trouble is we are getting hit hard on the counter attack with opposition players having acres of space.

Can only think widening the pitch will just give them more acres to run around in.

That's was notts county..most teams in this league aren't capable of that..fact is notts county were long ball counter attack merchants..we didn't have the luck yesterday..any other day we would've gone on to beat them but as stated a team doesn't perform 100% every week.. wider pitch more chances created imo

I agree with that, especially as everyone has played a 451/433 agains Robins conventional 442, do not only will oppositions teams outnumber us in midfield they will have more space to hit us on the counter.

I'd have to agree. It's far too narrow at the moment!

If we start trying to play with wingers it should be bigger, it just means teams with better wing play can hammer us

Thing is, we dont have players who stay on the touchline. Fleck is probably the exception to this, but one out of the lot of em isnt really worth spending money on to change the pitch

Exactly. And everyone has better wing play at the moment.

Widening the pitch will just mean more teams hitting us on the counter attack more often.

Would we even be having this conversation if we took even half of our chances and won yesterday?

We don't play with much width at all, so I can only see the widening of the pitch as detrimental to our health.

Bigger goals that we swap at half time might help

Balls... Multiple Balls.. whatever happened to that idea.. 'twas one of Coleman's ideas wasn't it..?
Alongside the narrower pitch or not debate... what about the reintroduction of the multiple ball system.. in a ground only 1/3 full it might assist in adding a little tempo to our game and save the ball boys scrambling up and over rows of seats?
