Not a player this time , but to our back room staff .
Next season will be our reemergence to the premier league & like Frank , I believe the addition of John Terry , could be vital to our defensive & team unit .
Both have that winning mentality, been there & done it , but that extra knowledge is priceless ?

I'd rather get somrone else in to work with defence (Ashley Cole?) & Drogba in to work with the forwards, no idea what he is doing currently

One thing that seems to have worked well in recent years, certainly with the players, is they seem to have made a big effort to appoint people who are decent and non-disruptive. It seems to be a big part of the ethos to make sure that individuals are friends with each other and form a bond etc. I would imagine that bringing in a vile person like John Terry could easily disrupt that. Can't stand him and would be ashamed if we appointed him.

Good players do not necessarily make good coaches

He’s one of Lampard’s best mates in football.

Do teams usually appoint more coaches when they get promoted?

What makes you think we'll add to our coaching staff?
Lampard seems content with what he has now.
I thought he'd bring in a defensive specialist for the Championship and he hasn't so not sure he will if we go up.

Whatever Frank thinks (although I'm not keen). Next season could be tricky, as now/if Frank has 'proved himself' but we struggle next season in the PL, will the bromance fade between Frank and the club, and will he be tempted elsewhere if there are inevitable offers elsewhere? Anyway, let's just enjoy the ride - we know he's unlikely to be here in 3 or 4 years time, and the whole squad will likely be different, with the obvious exception of Julian Gray.

I've heard this spoken about before but have no idea what it is.
I've a feeling it's for the best, I mean, what sort of fuckwit uses the term 'baller'?!

I had the misfortune of seeing a few minutes of this flicking through the channels the other night.

Its like someone thought lets bring back masters football, which was fun, but make it as shit as possible by adding in 'celebs' and 'influencers' and pointless rule changes.

Avoid at all costs.

Would Frank do a Jimmy Hill and leave as soon as we’re promoted?
I’d hope not.

I don’t really get how it has a following, the joy of supporting your local team can’t really be beaten imo.

Although, I think I’ve answered the question because the people who like it are probably plastics who follow the ‘influencers’.

Chelsea or England then yes he would go I am sure and it it was on the back of us going up we really couldn’t complain I guess. I hope England is Tuchel plus one more before it’s his turn though

Chelsea I don’t think he’d go back unless he was considered a truly ‘elite’ manager in his own right. Once bitten, thrice shy and all that.

As for England, I’m not so sure why commentators have been so quick to anoint Lampard because the FA overlooked Eddie Howe who has had an objectively better career.

Is that because of his history as an England player perhaps? Although very few England managers have been successful England players, Southgate I guess?

The FA either appoint Carsley or Lampard after the World Cup - they seem determined not to go for Howe. Whichever they choose there’s a good chance the other becomes/stays as our head coach.

According to Guillem Balague there's a very strong chance Pep will be next England manager

I think it's the England job Lampard would be tempted by long term. If we were to be promoted I'm not sure other club jobs would seriously tempt him. He isn't doing for the money is he, and he has local Chairman here he has built a good relationship with, fans who love him and won't turn on him if there are few poor results, and he seems free to build the culture he wants with support and no interference from above. My only worry would be a stable prem club in London like Crystal Palace. He can't be happy spending so much time away from his children who are still young I think.

I think there is always scope to expand the coaching team with the right people. For example, it seems commonplace now for prem clubs to have specialist set piece coaches. If the prem money makes an appointment like that possible it can only be a good thing. But 100% it has to be the right person who will come in and add to the culture we have, not someone who will disrupt it

Rather than being determined not to go for him I think it's more that while he's under contract at Newcastle the FA just simply wouldn't be able to afford his existing wages, nor his release clause.
