Williams' time was 11.45 in that Rumbelows sprint competition, for context Alan Wells won olympic gold in the 1980 games with a time of 10.24. (USA runners boycotted those games)Thinking current fastest is probably MVE however there are some contenders for fastest ever. Im too young to remember the flyng postman John Wiliams who is widely touted as our quickest ever. Quickest ive seen was Huckerby but im sure theres plenty more who would be up there. I vaguely remember David pipe being rapid but might just be because he was small and bald.
Huckerby was rapid, acceleration was his biggest strength. I remember that time he knocked the ball past Gareth Barry I think with a 5 yard start and beat him to it.
Why did they boycott, not enough drugs allowed or was that Canada,Bravo to Scotland, what would that time be if the USA win was around, any Idea or guess?Williams' time was 11.45 in that Rumbelows sprint competition, for context Alan Wells won olympic gold in the 1980 games with a time of 10.24. Hermann HreidarssonGood question, slowest ever...

Callum Wilson was rapid that season at Sixfields
If he hadn't lost a yard of pace and had a bit more luck with injuries I think he would have touched 30/40 England caps easily
Blimey forgot about Ramage. In the words of Blackadder. "Advanced no further than an asthmatic ant with some heavy shopping"Some of those Mowbray signings in the 2016 Jan Transfer window...
Peter Ramage, Steven Hunt, Darius Henderson - That transfer window needs to be studied, I don't know whether we went to town on signing experience cause we had a young side or all we could afford was over the hill players on their last payday but all I know is it cost us the season
My slowest player is Nathan Clarke... For those of you who prefer to forget that bleak period in our history, Russell Slade signed him as he'd been his captain at Orient! Milk turned quicker and he sent my OCD into overdrive as as a centre half he was designated squad number 7
Doesnt count because he never ran. Mightve been rapid for all we knowYakubu close thread
Doesnt count because he couldn't run. Mightve been half dead on the pitch for all we know
I read that and was like i swear thats not what I saidChanged it for you!
I forgot about Ashley Cain!I'd say he and Ashley Cain are the quickest in modern times.
Wilson was the lightning fast before those ACL injuries.
Yet he was caught offside so many times!Huckerby was rapid, acceleration was his biggest strength. I remember that time he knocked the ball past Gareth Barry I think with a 5 yard start and beat him to it.
My dad used to say Hucks was never offside the Lino just assumed he was because of how far through he wasYet he was caught offside so many times!
Cobi Jones was very quick but had no idea what to do with it.
And he was running in football kit and football boots as I recall. (Willo, not Wells)Williams' time was 11.45 in that Rumbelows sprint competition, for context Alan Wells won olympic gold in the 1980 games with a time of 10.24. (USA runners boycotted those games)
