If we keep the decent League One players and add 5/6 players of that calibre we may finish in the top half next season. If we sell these sort of players and don't add sufficiently I can only see another relegation.

Championship players and will probably be sold or leave:
Clingan
Cranie
Keogh
Murphy

Decent-ish League One players:
McSheffrey
Hussey
Jordan Clarke
Baker
Wood
McPake
McDonald
Platt
Thomas
Christie
Dunn

Poor League One standard players:
Deegan
Bell
ROD
Bigirimana
Cameron
Willis
Jeffers

Don't see how you can say Dunn will be a decent League One player when he's barely played, then you list Championship regulars like Bigi and Deegan as poor, makes no sense at all.

Willis (hard to say)

Don't think Bigi will be effective in league 1 - not a bad player, but not very physical in a very physical league.

All of this is alas academic with SISU. If they still own the club then we won't be bringing many, if any, players in.

We need a team of men. Not kids.
All the above should be released or put back in the acadamy... 15 new mature grown men (adults) need to be found.

Baker, Bell , Deegan & McPake need to be moved on, always injured and offer little in return for the money. Then I would try and offload McSheffrey as I suspect hes one of the highest if not the highest earner in the squad. Need to bring in 8 and then use the youth for everything else. Who ever thinks we'll be up there is going to get a major shock come January.

So far my team would be....

......... Cody - ?
? - Thomas - ? - ?
Hussey - Cameron - ? - Clarke
............Murphy

Assuming these players leave Cranie, Clingan, Herman, Norwood, Nimely, Bell, Eastwood, ROD I would say we need 8-10 new players.

I agree, we need about 8-10 players.

More chance of hell freezing over than of that happening though.

Can anyone on here actually see us forking out for 10 players?

I wouldn't even mind 10 freebies. As long as we get the numbers in.

If we keep Clarke and Christie then we wont need a new right back.

Ffs he's only 18, and to put it in to perspective norwood is 3 school years older than Bigi. If he was 21/22 I would agree but 18 is too young to write someone off.

Fair point. Perhaps worth keeping for another season but he should certainly not be a first choice starter in my opinion. Perhaps worth having coming off the bench but if we are going into next season with a midfield of Thomas, Bigirimana, Deegan and Baker/Bell we will struggle in League 1 as they are too light weight.

Tbf Thomas shouldn't be a regular starter either. IMO we need

3 strikers
3 CMs
2 new wingers
2 CBs
And a back up LB

If you look at Charlton, and the two Sheffield clubs have made 20+ signings (perm and loans) each this season. That's the scale of rebuilding we need to do.

i'm not saying write him off. i'm just interested to know because he seems to be a big favourite and people rave about him but for me personally i havent seen anything from him that makes me think he's going to be a top player for us. i'm not saying get rid of him and perhaps he'll improve as, like you said, he's only 18.

Fantastic first touch, creative vision, very quick feet, when confident capable of playing one-touch and has played more incisive through balls that created chances in the past few weeks than Clingan has all season. Always gives his all, just needs experience. He's just a kid FFS, his potential is massive, as is that of the rest of the youngsters-including Willis from what I saw today. Patience is however required-what did Hansen say?

I'm amazed this is happening too, Stu-it's Ben Turner all over again; maybe when he prospers elsewhere some of our fans can admit they know sod all about football?

He was the best player in our entire squad in last seasons pre-season. If you'd been to Nuneaton or Leam, you'd have had your breath taken away with how good the lad was. MASSIVE potential, more than Thomas IMO.

For me , the youngsters look quite promising , no not first team players as of yet but if we can keep them and carry on developing them till they become a age in which we can play them without any fears of any kind, also for next season if we get funds we need to re structure the squad.... thats a must but take out the players who would probably be leaving in the summer i.e keogh, clingan, norwood , nimely, crainie (maybe) , 2 new centre backs ( reserve prem players) 3/4 midfielders ( established good league 1 , who can pass a ball well and could run on the pitch all day) and 2 new strikers ( 1 from prem , if we can then a decent reserve and also a championship out of favour centre forward who wants to play and score and can get a good amount of goals)

Bigi just does'nt do it for me. i saw a lot of passing it backwards and getting rid as soon as possible. particularly as his spell in the team went on. i'm excited about how good thomas and christie could be. thomas very composed player good vision and passing ability. christie good attacking full back who gets quality crosses in. personally i dont think we can rely on the kids next season. i was talking to a walsall fan the other day and he told me about how a lot of the clubs in league 1 are big bruiser type teams. i dont want us to become a team like that but we really need a bit more experience and to have a bit more about us on a physical level. having said that i think it'll be a case of sign whoever we can if the situation doesnt change

Bigi was called the best midfielder for his age by Gregor Rioch our Youth Team Coach. He was voted the best apprentice of the year by all the clubs. He has a great touch and vision. Clearly he is physically struggling at times and seems to lack confidence going forward, but he is a real talent. If we start dissing our best youth players we are in real trouble.

Christie quality crosses? sorry what have you been watching i rate him but if your head is his target then he is Barcelona standard he can run with it and has skill but i think he has one maybe to good crosses a game.
