That VAR is an absolute joke. Must be millimeters in it and no way can you be sure. Pathetic

Not sure about that offside.

Not in the way of the keeper as he had dived the opposite way

They did look at it, but decided it wasn't bad enough (rightly). Thomas was more of a pronounced swing, and a kick out too.

Was holding the player. Do not like it though. If it takes 4 minutes it's not a clear and obvious mistake, and you call it level (like the Haji one at Wembley should have been). VAR is shite.

Not sure how it stopped the defender from getting to the ball. He wasn't even looking at the ball and had no idea until it was in the net

It shouldn't be even debated, VAR was bought in for clear and obvious errors, that was not clear and obvious and is a fuckin joke much the same as Haji Wright's

I'd argue they were both holding each other too. Always say, if you have to draw a fucking line then it's level. Should be judged with the naked eye.

stop drawing the lines and let the ref watch it in real time rather than keep slowing it down. Should not be more than 30 seconds involved either

Exactly this. It's being totally misused.

They should have just took one look at that and said it's far too close to call and to gone with the on-field decision

That's far to sensible. They're sucking the life out of the game unfortunately

Very similar point to the one I’ve made in respect of cricket’s ’umpires call’ margin. They know the tech isn’t exact so have left power with the official. Football continually pretends it’s an exact science. Make the lines a certain thickness, if when you put them on a screen they’re touching then it stays with the on-field decision.

The offsides should be judged by a panel of 3, no lines, no tech just the freeze frame of when the ball was kicked. Give em 5 seconds to decide. Majority decision either way wins.

Keeps the spirit of the rule and the human element there.

Similar to other sports, need to bring in an appeals system for VAR (one per half for example)

If correct then you get your appeal back. If incorrect then you lose it
