My 3 Season Tickets have been delivered today and this is the first time since we moved to Sixfields that I've had the will to want to buy a season ticket. I've bought for me and my two young lads so I'm feeling optimistic for the coming season.
The Optimism Meter is at 6 out of 10 right now and with a couple of new strikers I think it might just reach the dizzy heights of 6.5 or even 7!

Whats your Optimism Meter reading at right now? :thinking about:

That's not so bad. For insomniacs such as myself, Christmas is only two more sleeps away!

My optimism meter is at 9. I'm always optimistic at the start of the season, but with TM, it's a big fat 9.

I was optimistic due to the signing of TM.
Then when no signings were coming through the door and we kept hearing we are close. Then you are seeing the likes of clarke signing for Bury.
Then the players were reporting back for training and we had signed Tudguy Stokes and a youth player. When NP rejected us. Then Reda was looking round for better. We were linked with Ricketts again
TM said he lost out in one of his main targets due to a few hundred quid.
My optimism was gone.
I thought when are our owners going realise to earn 5 million you have to invest some money first!!
I thought poor TM another decent manager to be labeled a failure by a lack of backing.
Then Ricketts signed I went back to 3/10.
Then when we paid a transfer fee I was up to 5/10. Reda has taken me to six.
Two decent strikers and 2 young loanee wingers and I will be on 9/10.

When we talk about optimism, what are we measuring on? Survival in this league? Top half finish? Top 6? Automatics?

The fact that we're even looking forward to the season is an infinite improvement on anything post 2010/11 and that's good.

I would like to see us inside the top and pushing for the play offs, I am fairly stupid so I go into every season thinking easy promotion this was until Pressley when I always thought relegation

Our signings haven't particular improved the odds, we're still only 12th favourites for promotion on skybet.

Having a winning season, i. e. winning more games than we lose.

We are always told we have a top six budget.
If it was a promotion budget I have no doubt we would be told that.

Top six if the budget is the same as last year. If it less then so are my expectations

I amazed we are 12th favourites have we not released 9-10 and signed 3 possibly 4

It would be good to start with a win and that would stick it right up Whelan's idiot grandson.

I'm 46 tomorrow and never in my lifetime have we had a top 6 finish. If we get some goalscorer this could be the year!

Wernt we 8th in form table under mowbray last season with pressley squad?

Yet with his own squad people are predicting 10th?

Get his preffered attackers in and Top 6 is happening boys!

This is beginning to look like a genuine push for promotion, I can't see any point in putting the effort into strengthening the defence as we have, unless we continue that effort throughout the team.
Top 2 for me
