Doesn't look anywhere near 15 acres, that screenshot is the whole ccfc ryton site. In fact it doesn't look much more than a 1/4 of that.

So where are you going to put those 3-4 outdoor grass pitches, 1 outdoor 3g pitch, 1 indoor 3g pitch and everything else on the ccfc ryton land as per thr screenshot?

The minimum criteria does not state that 3-4 outdoor grass pitches are mandatory. It does though make provision for u18s and u21s to have unlimited access, while stating that younger ages have minimum hours access. Bringing Ryton up to this standard is not unachievable, particularly bearing in mind that not all access needs to be at the same site.
Its for CCFC to resolve.
While we're at it, as long as the four pitches at Higgs, and the indoor and outdoor 3G pitches are obliged to be retained for EXCLUSIVE academy use....how does that fit with provision for the general community football for the good citizens of the city. which is what funding for Higgs centre was ACTUALLY specified?

It says sufficient number of grass pitches - we regularly use 3-4 at higgs, we were using 3 yesterday.

And thats on top of an indoor and outdoor 3g.

Tell me how you fit 3-4 outdoor pitches, and an indoor and outdoor 3g pitch at ryton as per the screenshot.

Or are you moving the goalposts now that you realise you can't get it all on the ryton site?

It would be handy if say CCFCs newest director was also director of a company that builds houses, wouldn't it?...... Oh wait......

Yes, the football clubs of the city can scrat among themselves for access to a community pitch. True.

Yes they did. The planning departments of two local authorities are conspiring against the owners.
Am I seeing a common thread here?

Being booked up is hardly the same as what you are making out. I've played there a few times, I am by no means playing for the academy.

You can't just stroll up and decide you want a kick about on the indoor full sized pitch.

So the community can't use it because it's not on demand and available as and when?

It's the same as anything, people need to book.

Things like 5 a side leagues also have bookings at places like that. You just have to book round then if you fancy a kick about.

Being booked is a bit different to closed to the public isn't it?

Ryton is not open to the public to go for a kick about, there's a difference

It's time for the SISU apologists took their heads out of their backsides. It's not for CCC, or Wasps, or Higgs charity, or CSF to secure an academy for CCFC.
It's for CCFC to invest in the facility, in order that CCFC can meet the criteria that secures funding to develop players...in order that the CCFC business thrives.

Hang on, we didn't have to 'secure' an academy...we had one. All we needed to do is confirm that we wanted it longer than 2017.

Thanks to CCC and Wasps, now, we need to secure an academy.

Again, my point from the other day...the council were up in arms when we went to Northampton yet their decisions (as well as Sisu's) have effectively ruined our club as they've welcomed a franchised club with open arms to the detriment of two clubs who've been in the city for years and years. Everything done from the council has been done out of spite. That's no way to run an accountable public authority.

Some on this forum can see that clearly. Others think the only party responsible is SISU. It beggars belief that some cannot see both sides culpability...

Didn't say it was closed to the public, did I Nick? Les Reid interpretation of what I said, will look forward to his next episode of myopic diarrhea quoting hard facts about me and the Council claiming it is closed to the public.

They have in the past, but they now have a large number of houses to build 12,400. Ryton is being asked to take 100 houses. Who knows, they might change their view on it.

Worth noting that since then RBC as part of it's town plan have asked Ryton to accommodate 100 new homes. Might get a different outcome now.

They don't own us. What shall I say? It seems like a deal has been done and dealt - which is not good and there seems to be contradictions in the planning process. SISU are appealing as far as I understand. CA didn't go to a meeting and the objection was 3 weeks after the deadline. But that has nothing to do with stuffing SiSU or wanting SISU to be stuffed. I would rather SISU had got stuck in and showed more interest before it got this far. Saying they had not said they were leaving at the end of the contract is not the same as saying we want the Academy long term - where do we sign?

I thought the argument was about me only wanting SISU stuffed. I am not talking about Wasps or CSF - they are not SISU. They are doing their thing. I miss our owners contribution - or rather they are joining in at a late stage - it is their decision and that is my gripe. Of course they can damage us. We all know that - I would have gone to the meeting and then, and beforehand, have said we are here to stay.

So true. But it’s hard to persuade the average man in the street to come and watch The Sound of Music on your 8mm projector, when Spectre is showing at the Imax. Not trying to be disrespectful to CRFC, just pointing out the commercial reality. I wish it was different.

The other commercial reality is that all the people sitting at home in Coventry watching the Premier League on Sky are contributing more to CCFC’s demise than any other single factor. That* is why I’ve never paid for football on my TV, and I’m sure that goes for everyone else on here too

A lad I work with used to be in the youth reckons there are or were a couple of lower grade pitches out there or land for (can't remember).
That would have been about 20 yrs ago though.

The plot is variously described as 10-15 acres, which suggests some difficulty with part of its use?
I'm sure the vitriolic collaborator swine that is RBC will know?

Is that the land that was sold to sports connexion?

The screenshot is the whole of ccfcs ryton training base, as a football pitch is about 2 acres the whole site looks 6 max. There are lakes oneside, cov sports connexion the other and the main road on the left.

This is about the most generous I can get, not actually sure where the boundaries are and probably taking in a lot of either useless land or not actually on the plot. Still only gets you to just over 8.
