I think even the most ardent SISU sympathiser must realise that even if the rent, admin etc was sorted that it's now too late for them here. They've lost the support, trust and respect of the majority of fans and I can't see how they could possibly turn it round. Never heard the term 'busted flush' before recently but now I know what it means I think it sums them up perfectly. Would be interested to hear if anyone genuinely believes they can turn it round and probably more importantly whether they would be given the chance.
I'm not a supporter of SISU after all that they have 'underachieved' since taking charge but to be strictly on point you need to clarify what you mean exactly? So many views are expressed without thought and based on sentiment and not facts.
If somehow this whole mess was cleared up and they were still at the helm next season and prepared to pump a bit more money in to give us a more than better chance to have a good season then like most fans I would not pay much notice to who the owners were if we were up around the promotion contenders.
I think they did pretty much what they said they would when we went down. They invested in the team, took on a good manager and turned it around. They got to grips with the finances and half halved the losses.
To simply suggest they are the devil in disguise so to speak is a bit rich. What they have however done is play hardball with a company and council that when you look at it from a different neutrals perspective, has been poor at best. But then so too have the council and ACL. they are equally culpable in demands and actions that have upset both sides and have used the football club like a ping pong ball.
Shame on them both for the stances they have taken to the detriment of the football club.
If there is a way forward for the Haskell's offer to come through and usurp SISU's ownership then I'm all for it but would need to know exactly what that offer is. I can't see SISU stepping aside quite so easily though and why should they? I suspect however they are reinventing their own position daily and will make sure they recoup some money before they get close to stepping aside.
The legal position is what counts here now and depending on what outcome we have regarding the 'golden share and players registrations etc.
Once that is clear at the end of the season we will see who has the stomach for the fight to gain control of the club and how one side may negotiate their way out of it.
Coundon this is precisely what I'm saying. There are opinions on here all the time about what posters think and not about the realities and the legalities. The so called £60m is a play on words if you will and better explained by looking back on many, many post by OSB where you would then at least have more understanding. They made plenty of mistakes and actually have agreed to that but did start to regroup as it were and cut losses dramatically. The rent issue if you like was just another stance on that project.
The problem is that when I say that many will simply utter garbage back and suggest I'm a SISU supporter. Not so.
I think that's where Linnell's frustrations are on the radio. He is trying to keep within the confines of reality and not mere opinionating for the sake of it. Too much sentiment by fans gets in the way of those realities. Step back pay attention to the facts first. If you can't then reserved judgement at least and don't follow 'sheep like' for the sake of it and based on a generalisation of public sentiments.
So don't get me wrong. SISU are and have been the worst kind of ownership a football club could have. The original model under Ray Ranson I could understand but what followed after that was not. What the council as it slips out more and more could have done has been nothing short of pathetic and ACL for their part useless as well. That alone though does not mitigate SISU's terrible lack of skills and operation of the football club as a whole.
I'm not suggesting you are a Pro-Sisu, however my opinion is that Sisu have blown their chance at running this club, just in the same way Geoffrey Robinson did.
As for ACL, if they were acting as a proper business, they would have evicted the club by now, and we may have been expelled from the league for being unable to fulfill our fixtures.
Well I think you will have to put your morality away as ACL will have to be merged into the club. No investor on this planet will want the club without full control of all revenues matchday related or not. If we have a club to support next season ACL will cease to exist.
Very unlikely. ACL would become a subsidiary of CCFC (either Ltd or Holdings) as they have the expertise needed to put on non matchday events.
The club has no future with ACL either IMHO.
