It's great to look forward to games again (and to be winning some) but I did notice one slight flaw with Nouble's finishing for the goal. When the ball was headed for the post he almost turned away and a goalie with better awareness would have beaten him to the ball. Watch the footage and see that he was actually slow to react.
This is not a major criticism and I have already forgiven him.

He was still quick enough to beat the goalie was, if it was a quicker goalie he may have reacted quicker to beat him

I agree with Johhny, it was arrogance mixed with a lack of risk awareness. But he's a young fella...

He should have followed the ball in and tapped it home when it rebounded. That's what any good goal poacher would have done. Always follow the ball in in case it rebounds.

I remember Ernie Hunt following to the corner flag when everyone else had stopped and sure enough............

He should have? He did!

This seems like nit-picking! He scored! He thought the ball was going in and slowed for a fraction of a second. Ball hit the post, he puts it in.

Yes that's how I see it. It really did come off the post and skidding on the lively surface up at fleetwood so.

What about noubles desire to close the keeper down 5 minutes into injury time and he still ran in and scored?

Bloody hell. We won and played well. Just enjoy that and stop being so negative. I can't remember the last time I smiled all the way home.

Sounds like more having a go at Nouble for no reason. All we hear most of the time are words like crap and lazy. He is now playing in the right position in a team that attacks. He is scoring goals. That will do for me.

How many that are picking faults with him are old enough to have watched Micky Quinn play? I am not comparing the two, but he hardly moved all game. A 5 yard run was overdoing it. All players are different. Nouble is still learning. And he has a decent manager to help him.

SISU left it too late in getting rid of SP. A month earlier and we would have been in with a shout of the playoffs. But if Nouble continues to improve and we manage to keep him and Mowbray I will be having a large wedge on us being Division 3 champions next season.

Looked to me like he slowed his run to see where the rebound went.

Do you remember Quinny's reply to anyone that called him lazy, or slow?..............It's something that disproved all of his "Barrackers" because of the goals he scored, "I'm the fastest Forward in the World over 1 yard" lol

Over 2yards IIRC

And after 4 games Huck? Mowbray is proven at Championship level. And he has changed the way we play with mainly the same players. Most of the deadwood will be out of contract at the end of the season. He will be able to build his own squad. He will have decent contacts to get decent loans. And it is only Division 3 FFS.

He nearly fucked it up, but didn't. The experience will no doubt ensure he follows the ball next time he's in a similar situation. Not sure this is worth a thread.

Under the previous manager he wouldn't have been that far up the pitch at that stage of the game.

@ Astute, and Nick....You're both wrong.......... Michael "Mickey" Quinn played as a centre-forward for the vast majority of his ... but left after just one season and turned professional on joining Wigan Athletic in ... was famously quoted as being the Premiership's 'fastest player over a yard'.

I think Noble probably thought the ball was going in until it hit the post and was sharp enough to follow up and make sure, not sure what else he could do.

It does not matter if he was slow to react ffs, stupid comment to make, he scored, we won end of story, should be no negative comments after we won at a very very difficult place to go too this season.

I'll be happy WHEN we beat Doncaster saturday, 3 points above drop zone doesn't bode well for my anxiety. If we lose and Crawley, Notts and Crewe win, we're back in the shit.

As for Nouble, I criticized him on Monday and he scores again, so i'll carry on that trend. Mr Nouble, show us what you can do, you're the new sky blue beast, now feast on this league!!

We are still very much in the shit. It's not quite as sticky as it was but it still smells pretty bad and there's a couple of chunks of corn in it.

I don't think I'm better than anyone else. You just go off on one with your abuse. One post you're fine, the next you're f'ing and blinding. Just a bit odd.
