..if we get stuffed at home by Bristol, I think many fans will see this as full-scale crisis mode...everyone will be talking about SP and will start to look embattled. Barring the two wins back at the Ricoh, our form since the turn of the year has been dire:
7 league wins since new years' day - a span of 34 games*
11 draws in that same space of time so total of 32 points
this is an average of 0.94 points per game
Over the course of a 46-game season this would give us 43 points
Last season, 43 points would have been good enough for 22nd place - relegation.
So we have been in relegation mode since NY day ... I won't even start on goals scored.
Reminds me a bit of the run that eventually got Boothroyd the sack - AB looked hunted and eventually folded - I hope the same doesn't happen with SP. Some fans saying he needs to go, but our problem has been too much managerial change, not too much of it.
TBH even if we go down we should stick with him. We are probably on a Sxfields budget so one of the lower in the league (no, the Wilson/Christie money didn't get reinvested). In Steve Waggott though we have a CEO who strikes me as competent, unlike those in the boardroom who booted out previous managers.
* edit - includes the two September home wins at the Ricoh, which are not excluded from these figures despite the statement in the opening paragraph.
