You need a good alternative? Try the people that bid for ownership of the club. Christ.

OMG no...that would mean Hoffman and 'Mr Coventry City' would be back....

How do you work that one out? We are playing in Northampton because SISU could not bear to play at the Ricoh anymore. Someone said we could have had 15.000 tonight if we were at the Ricoh. Yes, that may be but CCFC wouldn't have received any money from sales of food etc. SISU had had enough and were desperately looking for a place for us to play our games, Northampton were the only option. But why would SISU want to keep us there? It's not logical. They too want CCFC back in Coventry but not until either they own the Ricoh, or have built another stadium. I feel annoyed at many on this site as they are so paranoid towards SISU they make me and a few others look like apologists for SISU. I would like them to leave but with all the anti-SISU sentiments I have NOT read one good alternative or NOT one good plan to replace SISU. On a side note - HATS OFF to the guys on the hill.

13,000 extra fans is a lot of lost income from gate receipts alone, the pie money pales to insignificance. SISU bought the club knowing the rent, knowing that cov had sold its 50% share in ACL to a charity for £6m. They are now trying to achieve what they couldn't negotiate through holding us hostage in northants.

A very different opinion on SISU's strategies. We are all entitled to our own opinions of course.

If you believe that it is in the interests of CCFC's future to up sticks 39 miles away then ok. But answer me one question:

Why have they not made an offer for the freehold of the Ricoh?

Can't read what it says but that can't be for football, is it for the rugby? I don't for a minute think SISU have some grand plan to franchise us out to Northampton but you have to wonder if it will cross their mind at some point. Especially if Northampton continue to struggle or even drop out of the league. If that can't get the Ricoh do they abandon moving back to Cov? Seems unlikely but a lot of things have happened in the last few years that you would have been called crazy if you'd predicted it.

Article is online since I last looked: Nothing to do with the cobblers or the rugby apparently, both of them have just worked out loans with the Council to expand their existing stadiums anyway:

"Ambitious plans to create a hospital and a 25,000-seat arena on land east of the A43 near Sywell have been announced by a developer.

The 153-hectare site would also feature an urgent care centre, a 1,670-space park and ride facility; employment land; retail and leisure facilities and further A43 improvements.

The proposals are for land known as Roundhill Park, which has already been earmarked for a ‘sustainable urban extension’ of 5,500 homes. This figure includes the development of 2,000 homes near Moulton, which the Chron reported on earlier this month.

Developer UKSL, a county-based ‘land and infrastructure promotion company’, is behind the plans.

In documents seen by the Chron, Roundhill Park is described as “one of the most sustainable and wholly viable locations for a mixed use sustainable urban extension to Northampton”.

On the issue of acute care, the document adds: “At present, both North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire rely on a small number of older, medium size hospitals. They have been extended in an ad hoc manner to the point where they have reached capacity.

“Roundhill Park is an excellent location to accommodate an acute hospital.”

The firm said the proposed arena would not compete with the Cobblers or Saints, although sport would feature. The site would provide a national concert venue and exhibition centre."

spoke with a N'hampton resident who likes f'ball, & hates hoofball, he is one of hundreds who have been able to get freebies this season to watch, Coventry City, rather than hoofball cobblers,
anyway they should be called cordwainers

So your saying that 2000 people buy £180,000 worth of food and drink at Northampton ? 15,000 and no food and drink or 2,000 with food and drink I know which one id take from a business view and a supporter view

Anyone who says they're happy we're playing in Sixfields needs a good slap. It goes to show how short sighted people are.

I don't go to Sixfields, and wont go again until we get back to Coventry, but to threaten violence against fans who go there makes you a cowardly piece of shit in my humble opinion.

What SISU have said, and have maintained that they need access to revenue streams so if they accepted an offer that denied them F&B revenues, wouldn't it be going against their principles!? We hear a lot of people not going to Sixfields down to principle, it's kinda similar (for us: shit football at the RICOH, or entertaining football at Sixfields).

Yes I agree they need them revenues but in what world are they better off losing 13,000 fans ? My point is even with f+b revenue at Northampton it doesn't add up to the loss in ticket sales

sbtaylor, F&B profits are comparatively minor & certainly not worth debating,
in case you missed it, that was a cloud floated by TF many moons ago,
& suitably dismissed by a huge majority of observers,
as stated by a previous poster, 'try looking at the bigger picture'

If the Council hadn't been so childish and accepted the CVA, we'd be 4th right now.

They gained nothing and the club and us fans lost a lot, as usual...

Well done lads last night, quality result.

Fair play to the people on the hill last night, and the people who protested outside the council house yesterday. You are all doing the right thing, and I applaud you all!
