We were certainly playing at a quicker tempo and more direct than normal, although did so with a style and panache containing numerous instances of exquisite skill-not a long ball side by any means. But the first goal is one we don't score many of usually-essentially a big hoof up the middle-and Viktor had an absolute field day with direct balls being played into him, which Sheffield could not cope with. I doubt very much that any of that was in their scouting profile, and we totally blew them away.

Now, whether that is down to Lawrence-he said that he had added "1 or 2 things" to the gameplan-or simply due to a dilution of the normal MR gameplan-is impossible to say. It might have just been trying to do their best for DL on his big day. But do hope is that MR takes note and considers that if we play that style more often, just a bit quicker tempo and more directly, we will score a lot more goals. Whether it is sustainable I am not sure as the players looked knackered at the end.

Irrespective of today and encompassing the whole season so far, O’Hare has never been a fucking burden. With a few exceptions, he’s consistently been one of our best players, even when the team hasn’t performed well.

The whole premise of this thread is ludicrous at best.

As I said, people can feel ill to what I've said and that's fine, but there has been no decent debate whatsoever.

Can you see a difference between his performance yesterday and the rest of the season?

Your post doesn't really debate my points at all.

You have to remember that despite my opinions, I've still always wanted him to do well.

The difference? He scored, one scrappy goal, one good finish and a striker actually converted one of his assists. He also wasn’t kicked all over the pitch. Other than that? Same commitment, same work rate, same vital cog in the team. Most positive things go through O’Hare.

There was literally nothing different other than he scored and his assist was converted. Which only further leaves you on an island with your opinion that he’s a burden. He wasn’t a burden before yesterday and he wasn’t one yesterday.

But people can't "debate" with you as you ignore the facts put out in front of you and hide behind "your opinion" which on numerous things on here is factually inaccurate (and then you melt down and threaten people saying you know what they look like from seeing them on a video years ago)

Did O'Hare play better yesterday than any other time this season?

There are certain people who any attempt to debate with is futile because they are not interested in debate. They are only interested in “winning” and their stubbornness stifles any potential for critical thinking.

See: you comparing the requirement proof of vaccination to the holocaust

Depends what you define as play better I guess, to me he was no better than he is in most games (ie everything good we did attack wise went through him) but he added one tap in and a very good goal plus a striker finally finished off a chance he setup for them...

At no point this season has be been a burden to our team or system and if our strikers could finish more accurately he'd probably be on double figures by now for assists and if he was more consistent with his finishing he wouldn't be playing here

There are people who have made comments on this thread who have run away when COH has scored twice, that is not me.

I might have had a hard line opinion which others don't agree with, but I've made it very clear that I'm thrilled he has managed to produce some end product yesterday, despite my opinion that he has previously not produced to the level that he should do.

As for vaccinations, Ryan Kent, Jacob Murphy and whatever other shit people want to put into this thread, it doesn't discuss my points whatsoever. It's just a chance to jump all in.

If you want to talk about those cowardly vaccine mandates then tag me on the off topic chat, however, please bear in mind I took an oath with NW and Nick that I wouldn't comment on it anymore. It's certainly not relevant to this thread, and it still doesn't discuss my initial post which, despite a pretty wild headline, actually was quite fair.

I'm not seeing any value in what you just posted whatsoever.

I thought he was phemonal yesterday second half, and I think by his own reaction it is exactly the kind of performance he was wanting for a long time.

The fact it took weeks for this thread to be bumped properly surely proves that up until that point he wasn't hitting the very heights some of us wanted.

Now with ten games to go, if his confidence is sky high, well, who is to say we can't hit playoffs?

I bumped the thread because you only deal in end product. And he had some end product on Saturday. He is essential to the way we play even without that end product. But there would be no point bumping the thread then as you wouldn’t buy it.

The word ‘Output’ is semantics. I’d say no change in ‘output’. End product… to back up everything else in his game. My opinion is; that while he previously lacked end product, he still wasn’t a burden to the team, he’s always been an asset.

Fair enough.

As I said before, I'm very happy to be proved wrong. Despite the abuse I knew I would welcome (fuck me even Martin Wynch had a go on CWR), it is still about the team at the end of the day. To see how that goal made such a positive impact was great. It was very much like he was free after that.

Anyway, perhaps let's leave it at that.

When O'Hare scored his second, he ran to the crowd with his finger to his lips in the classic "now shut up" pose.
It's a shame when a player feels the need to do that to his own supporters, and it just proves how so much criticism has affected him.

That’s not what he’s doing I don’t think. I think it was a hand on the chin situation (not sure exactly) but not a shush

His first was a lot more than a tap in. Watch the replay and see how much ground he covered (and how fast) as soon as Gyokores got the ball

Well it was one thread in particular and also tbf only you and I responded (although I reckon nick banned himself from said thread, so couldn't respond ) although, bar one slip-up, you've kept to it well outside of there too.

It's looking promising that you and I will get to split proceeds amongst charitees, and isn't life so much better for that too

Recently noticed. Even with his shots off target on saturday hes shooting with alot more power than previously his shooting even though off target was limp.

This is the turning point for him (I hope) to becoming the complete attacking midfielder.
