One of the groundsmen at Chequers has been sentenced to 26 months for affray and other charges. Not his first time involved with the law, but it's reported he's still keeping his job when he get's out.
Sort it out Starmer you wet lettuce

His brother was hacked for killing the victims son and this was outside the court. Awful and no way should he keep his job.

Wet lettuce - there's an insult you just don't hear much anymore. People go straight for C*unt these days, but for me, you need to let people know you mean business and "wet lettuce" ticks all the boxes for me.

Yeah of course, not on Kier at all, but whoever is providing the services, no way can they let someone like that close enough to our PM that it could be an issue.

What decision do we think starmer is responsible for?
He would obviously have directly employed this chap and run his disciplinary process.

Not the sort of thing that would be down to the Chequers Trust who own and manage the estate.

Do people really think the PM gets involved with things like this? Do they think when we were changing PM every 5 minutes all the staff were fired and new people recruited?

The defence of him is almost as nauseating as the accusations.

I'd like to think people are well versed enough to know he doesn't get involved in low level appointments, but equally I would expect anyone working in close proximity to those in senior gov't office to be at the very minimum able to pass a DBS.

I don’t understand is the story about convicted criminal keeping their job? Is that not ok? I’m confused what I should be angry about with this one

Do you think it's ok for someone involved in violence to be around our PM? Spent conviction or not, he shouldn't be anywhere near him imo.

For once, im actually with Pete on this one.

What exactly has the guy done? Has he raped or murdered? Or has he had a few too many jars and had a scrap down the pub? I doubt he's a A-Cat prisoner. Maybe a few misdemeanours. And what is his job at Chequers? It says groundsman? So he mows the lawns and prunes the trees? I doubt he's rarely, if ever, comes in to contact with the PM. Id say, the average bloke on the street has just as much chance of bumping in to him.

If we stop every person thats ever had a criminal record ever getting in to employment again, then all we're going to do is A) support them all with benefits and B) push them back in to a life of crime.

And I never thought id see the day I agreed with Pete!

He kicked the father outside court who had just witnessed lads being jailed for killing his son. One of those convicted was this scumbag's brother.

He also has previous crimes on his sheet and with prisons full. they're not handing out 2 year+ sentences for nicking a few sweets.

Do you think it's ok he's near the PM? Not just this one, but any senior politician. Plenty of others who are law abiding I'm sure would like that opportunity.

Ok, I've just gone and looked at the report. So it would seem the original murder was most likely gang related. And the guy in question and his brother it would seem are both involved in the gang somehow.

The job was probably some sort of government, outreach, ex-prison type thing id say. To try and reintergate ex offenders. Maybe a way of trying to turn people's lives around. But once in the job, to then go and re-offend, that's a 1 strike and out rule for me.

However, I'd be very surprised that his job, mowing the lawns, if he'd have had any face to face with Kier, or any previous PMs.

So do you still think he should come out and keep that job?

It’s chequers gardening I think it unlikely it would need to be on his system
DBS wouldn’t be needed would it
Anyway im not trying to defend everything

No idea but I would think if there is even the slightest risk of interaction that it would be checked out and prevented. In fact anything that increases risk.

1) he should definitely lose his job

2) you wouldn't need to have a DBS to be a gardener.

3) it's absolutely nothing to do with Starmer.

'Keir where are you, the Cobra meeting started 5 minutes ago?!'
'Sorry just interviewing a lad about a job tidying up the fallen leaves at Chequers'

This guy absolutely should be sacked, but it is absolutely nothing to do with Starmer.
