I know a little of Ben Foster and he's ok, but I saw Dean Kiley showing off burning a £50 at the old Hobsons in Warwick before it was demolished. Some lad gave the prick what he deserved by casually walking over then sparked him out and sat back down to finish his beer.

Calls on Facebook on the Coventry fans forum, for Oggy to manage us at Wembley is just nonsensical sentiment. He's been a poor youth coach at the club (as I touched upon in the other thread) where bullying was rife in his age group and he was moved into a nice easy goalkeeper coach position. I really don't think he's done a lot for either Burge or RCC either.

He does seem a grumpy git but I don't think you can sack someone on that basis alone. Everyone knows someone at work who's tight, lazy or miserable - and Oggy fills the void for at least one of them at CCFC!

I have heard many former players and managers say that Oggy is a miserable moaner. I think it's just his general personality not an attitude of arrogance towards the fans. Micky Gynn is an absolute gent. I took some photos of him playing at the soccer sixes in Hong Kong and I sent them to my grandparents who were on his post round in Ryton. Micky was always really nice and friendly to my grandparents.

you can all queue up to get the punchline in but anyway...I went up to the Trust House Forte in Walsgrave about a million years ago when Arsenal were playing at Highfield road (not us, think it was a neutral cup game?)
Liam Brady was nice as could be although when I asked Pat Jennings for his autograph boarding the coach he said in front of everyone " DONT BE A c**t LADDIE" I was 10.

Went to the Highfield Road final year end of season ball in Birmingham and all the old/then current players were there. To a man every one of them was happy to give autographs and have a quick chat (especially Ernie Hunt who couldn't stop talking bless him, but he was three sheets to the wind) apart from Oggy that is.
Then when we went to Orlando we were at one of the theme parks and Oggy got off one of the rides when we were waiting to get on and when we spoke to him he just ignored us and pushed past.
A right miserable git!

I met Neville Southall once and asked for his autograph, he obliged, but wasn't too happy, well he did have to remove his gloves. It must be a keeper disease.

I can certainly back your comments on Micheal Gynne. Met him in 2010 and had a 5 or 10 minute conversation with him at the Ricoh. A really nice guy with no ego and happy to talk; and not just about himself. I really rated him as a player and it was nice to find he is a great human being too. Mind you, I rated Dave Bennet as a player as well and met him that day too.....

Saw Oggy in Woolies in kenilworth back in the day, he was staring motionless in what appeared to be total confusion at the blank VHS videos
...he was like a computer that had switched on the screen-saver, sort of like suspended in time.
I asked for an autograph and he obliged and signed as though scratching an itch or brushing away a fly, he spoke no words, he never once broke his gaze from the VHS.
To be honest it was a somewhat disappointing simplex sort of affair, but I was happy.
its not like I was expecting any of his trademark star jumps or for him to grab a video and drop kick off the side of his foot so it veered of at an angle and smashed on the wall or anything.
Happy days

I must have met Oggy on 6 or 7 occasions over the years, as a kid he signed autographs for me, he was captain the day I was a mascot and he was around when my nephew was a mascot and when my niece was and each time he was the same: polite and friendly but in a very sullen way, he just seems like a bit of a dull guy but never rude or in anyway unpleasant. Maybe he's just bored with life.

As for the comment about our keepers, we have had a string of brilliant keepers over the years and he deserves some credit for that. People asking for him to be sacked should be ashamed of themselves. The man won't ever have earned really big money and he's been loyal to the club. He deserves praise and not for people to be calling for him to lose his job and livelihood.

The last genuinely good keeper that came from our academy was Kirkland who was learning why oggy was still playing. since he's been a couch we've had no decent keepers out of the academy and the decent ones we've had have learned their trade elsewhere.

He didn't coach the keepers for a number of years though, that was the likes of Alan Hodgkinson.

Not Oggy related, but I've met Dion a few times and he's always been a top man. He also seemed genuinely saddened that some fans are still upset about the way he left.

Also spoke to several ex players through work. Jimmy Hill, Micky Gynn, Keith Houchen, Mick Quinn all lovely. Bobby Gould the most entertaining.

My brother once noticed Dave Bennett behind him in the queue for a taxi after a night out in Hinckley. He looked at him and said, 'Dave Bennett...1987! Keeping the Sky Blue dream alive.' Before the last word had came out of his mouth Benno had cut in front of him and was sat in the back of the waiting taxi.

Good for him, he's earned it and I'd give up my place in a taxi queue for him.

Never quite understand why we expect 'celebrities' to be happy and good natured all the time.

I wouldn't be if some nutter interrupted me while I was filling my face at Nando's.

Agreed. Especially when they're expected to be 'on' all the time, and the second that they're not they get slagged off/videos posted to social media etc. There's a great clip out there of a woman calling Busta Rhymes rude for not coming and signing autographs so he marches up to her and says, 'I can't stop I need to go to the bathroom and take a shit!'

Met a few players over the years

Danny Thomas at quo Vadis he was a gent had loads of pictures done with him
Dave Bennett a bit of a grump when I met him
Steve frogatt is sorting out my mortgage and is a real gent and speaks well of the city I said that I was shocked about Robins and he said he knew what was happening. we had a chat about the day that scum bag injured him against blunderland.
Met a few of the players when I was a mascot in the mid 80's

Have met others but can't think who at the moment

Froggatt was another guy that I had a chat with on the phone for work, and another absolute gent. Really nice guy who spoke very fondly of his time with us.
