We have allowed Burge 3 years of garbage performances - if he’d been released when RCC was where would he be now? Washing cars I’d guess

Talking of Oggy, he made what I still think are the best saves I've ever seen in a live game, vs Spurs at home in 1996 (the same season as the last day win there).

It was a brilliant double save at the West End, I think from a corner.

Who else is old enough to remember Bill Glaziers save at Arsenal? (68/69 ish)

I am and was there, you can see that game on YouTube 1967 I believe. Obviously have seen and witnessed many great saves over the years from various goalkeepers but one that does stick in the old memory box was by Bob Wesson at Luton mid-sixties, a mid week league cup-tie, Bob a decent keeper but nowhere near our best dived full length from one post to the other and somehow caught in mid air a blaster of a shot from about 10yards for ages after fans used to mention and ask did you see Wessons save, no TV unfortunately, oh and we won 4-3

It was fair to criticise Oggy when our keepers were shite. Now we’ve got a keeper that’s improved immeasurably it’s fair to praise him. Why does nobody on here have a bit of balance.

I’ll check you tube. I remember it was on Match of the day but I got home too late to see it and haven’t seen it since. I was behind the goal and remember an Arsenal fan calling Glazier a “Jammy Bastard”

Says the guy who claimed Wilson was a one season wonder in league one. Where’s he now?

Burge is at his level and always was. His improvements have moved him from bottom of the league to top though. Arguably he’s been one of our best players this season and arguably he’s one of the best keepers currently in the league. If he’d been released he’d still be at this level and someone would have got a very good keeper for this level for free. We’re lucky to have him and he’s clearly reaching the potential that managers have seen in him. Hence, they didn’t release him. I’m going to go out on a limb here and state that Mark Robins, Tony Mowbray and Stephen Pressley who all played football at the highest levels know more about what makes a good keeper than you.

We’re lucky to have him? He’s lucky he’s still here and his arse wasn’t booted out of the door with the rest of the dross that took us down.
Still, he’s improving of late to be fair.

Bollocks. I was one of his biggest critics but he’s improved so much and we need to get him on a new contract

Burge was absolutely shocking, truly truly conference standard for a number of seasons. I don’t buy that mana gamers necessarily saw his potential I just think they had better places (or thought they did) to spend the limited budget.

For two straight seasons every time a cross went in I’d shit myself because he just used to flap at everything. Even last season.

He’s doing much better this season and actually looks solid which is great. Long may it continue. He’s lucky we held onto him though otherwise he’d probably be part time now. Anyone who can’t see that isn’t being objective

Burge started to improve when Robins took over. His good performance at Wembley in the Checkatrade final helped his confidence no end, he's improved steadily since then helped by playing behind a better back 4.

He became a lot more vocal after Robins started also. Always shouting at the defence now where he used to barely raise a whisper in their direction.

Spot on. He's going from strength to strength. Think the fans backing has helped as well. Leeeeeee Burgeeeeee

Even his kicking is improving. Well a bit anyway

One of the few who has always liked him I could see he would be a decent keeper
Luckily so could all the managers who have managed him.
Even been accused of being his dad, lover etc .
Love it when I'm right.
