I'd honestly support a rugby kinda thing where the clock gets stopped when the ball is out of lay whether that's injury, throwing, corner what ever

Sorry but the one where he caught the corner and with nowhere near him flopped shouldn't be allowed

Yep. That's the one where he held it for about 10 seconds, then some more while he pretended to be injured and then another 10 even after.

My idea to stop the goalkeepers feigning injury is that keepers don’t count as subs. If your keeper goes down at all, he has to go off

Not sure what you can do if players exploit fake injuries

Punish them when it's obvious they are fake.

The keeper knew he would never get a second booking so just carried on.

The referee was absolutely appalling, worst I have seen for some time. I couldn’t believe he let the Norwich player stay on the pitch after he went down injured.

The dark arts

Im all for tactical fouls and a little bit of time wasting but did we really need to flop to the floor every twenty seconds?

Even Norwich fans seem embarrassed

Think in the 2 Nd half their players went down 7 times the goalie twice .Twice we had the advantage and the red blew up to give us a free kick.

Should be busted down anyway for that display.
Honestly how can you actually defend that dogshit unless your a Norwich fan.

Even Darren Huckerby who was in the away end today, tweeted " How are we winning this being destroyed down the left and have been time wasting for 30 mins"

What can he do about the time wasting realistically?

When they fake injuries he has no options. He was actually pretty hot on stuff otherwise.

Enforcing the existing rules around time wasting would be a good start. The ref today completely lost control of the game, that's his job. They know teams leading, particularly away from home, will try it on if they get the lead. It should be clamped down on early. When he didn't do that they knew they could take the piss. They also know no official has the balls to give a player two yellows for time wasting.

In terms of fake injuries it needs either the existing rules enforced, which don't say stop every time someone sits down, or a rule change. Don't stop play and allow physios to treat players while the game is ongoing unless it's something obviously serious like a broken leg. In the meantime ensure the correct amount of time is added on, that never currently happens.

Excellent point. What are these injuries that require a couple of minutes sitting on the pitch before they are miraculously cured. Realistically what are the physios doing that has that kind of miraculous healing effect? It doesn't happen in other sports, even sports that are far more physical. I only see the physio at the Blaze if someone is lying on the ice unconscious or has blood pissing out of them.

im sure I remember a time not too long ago where a player would be treated at the side lines and the game would go on with ten men then sometimes they’d recover and come back on and sometimes they’d be subbed off.

We were level with the penalty shout and we all.thought that Hadji dived.

We were talking to a Norwich supporter as we got back to the car park and he was disgusted with their time wasting

Bogey side Norwich aided and abetted by some bad refereeing and strange linesman decisions on throw ins. Thought the offsides looked right.
In the refs defence, can't ever remember two players being carded for time wasting in the first half. However, with all that time wasting three minutes only added on in first half?
He gave fouls against us for perfectly good tackles and brought play back when EMC was away.
Would like to see in close up; the tackle on Bobby - potential red. Also the tackle on Haji, which at the time I thought was a pen. Did they discuss it on TV anyone?
Can't blame ref for dodgy goalkeeping fake injuries. The rules hamstring the refs. He could add on further time however.
I would be upset if I was a Norwich fan. They only really went for it when we equalised and looked dangerous.

Do you mean me defending it? I'm not.

I'm saying that it's made very difficult when you get gamesmanship like Norwich's, and that there should be retrospective action for performances like that. There's only so much a ref can do (not that I think he did it today).

I was criticising Norwich's performance, not defending the ref. I thought he was weak.

That was correct. If a player is fouled and needs treatment he doesn't need to go off if the player who committed the foul is yellow carded

First thing is 60min stopped clock so no time is wasted.

That, however, does not stop the effect on momentum etc. so other things need to be considered for that.

Firstly, if a keeper goes down injured for treatment then one of the outfield players has to go off in their stead.

Also the problem of there not being any actual punishment for timewasting, because you pretty much never see anyone given a second yellow for timewasting and never, ever a keeper, hence why the get chosen to do it. How many players did they get booked for timewasting today, but never the same player? Keeper did it numerous times and he knew the ref wouldn't have the balls to card him again.

As timewasting is a collective foul then why not make it that if a team is called for timewasting the opposition get to choose which member of the opposition gets that yellow card. If you have anyone at all on a yellow card they could be sent off. So you could potentially get away with timewasting once (unless that player was then subbed) before having a player sent off.

He was kicked in the back of the leg, VAR probably send the ref to the screen.

Some tit on the radio should have done his research before ringing in and making himself sound like a moron. If the opposition player is caution for a reckless tackle, the injured player can receive treatment on the field of play and doesn’t need to go off. Half the stadium didn’t know this either.

Gavin Ward is the new Keith Stroud

And annoyingly he’s not even the worst we have had this season.

But the sooner refs start showing bottle and ignoring blatant time wasting, feigning injury because it’s the only way they can time waste when already on a booking (their keeper), clearly delaying a sub by ‘hobbling’ from near the bi line to the centre spot to further time waste, the better!

But won’t happen.

And in answer to the opening question, nothing will change.

We seen last week in the Prem where they had 6 officials make such a clear and obvious error by pulling play back to disallow a legit goal, they will just ‘apologise’ and expect everyone to say ‘well at least the nice man said sorry!’.

I was sat in my seat while everyone booed or berated the officials and smugly said ‘that’s the right call’.

only right call Ward made all game though.

Not strictly true, it is at the referee’s discretion how serious the injury is and whether they should leave the field of play, booking or not.
That player was clearly not seriously injured and did not require further treatment. He jogged at pretty much 3 quarter pace to attack the free kick.
