Nah I’m honestly baffled at the hysteria.

Not a Doug fanboy at all but the fact is he’s still at the club, Robins isn’t, so I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.

It’s not really hysteria though is it. The longest run of unbroken progress and success we’ve had in decades has just been ripped up, and we have a very uncertain future now with a completely new approach to managing the club.

I’d actually be in favour of the data driven approach, but my god King is taking some risk doing this, and the doubt is whether he knows who to appoint without turning us back into a basket case of a club. It’s not hysteria.

To be honest, I'm baffled that you're baffled by the feelings of fans - you call it hysteria, it's not. It is pretty obvious why fans are so upset by not just the act of sacking him, but the timing. King has scored a major own goal here and I don't think he'll ever recover the rapport he had with the fan base. Fans have long memories and are pretty unforgiving.

I quite like BT. I think when he plays it simple rather than trying to spray balls here and there he's a good, no nonsense defender. Have never warmed to Kitchin and thought we vastly overpaid for him. Wouldn't be sad to see him go.

Second longest serving manager in our history

Arguably the most successful

Without doubt saved the club

Him being sacked is bound to cause a stir

True, but there were 27 years between JS being sacked and MR’s second appointment, so we might have to be very patient…

That is true but we had some good players, teams, after JS, remember when Sky used to call us the Entertainers with players like, Gary McCallister Robbie Keane Darren Huckerby Noel Whelan Dion Dublin Steve froggatt John Salako ect.

Yup, because the timing now seems all wrong. A 3 game unbeaten run and 2 good wins.

Think he was just waiting for the next defeat.

It’s not hysteria at all. After 7 years of relative stability (and a fair bit of success) on the playing side everything now changes. It’s a new era on the pitch really and it’s one hell of a risk. Nothing ‘hysterical’ there, it’s fact. I mean look at the names you’ve thrown around as potential new managers in the past, this is a huge decision.

You got what you were calling for so don’t really see any issue, others wanted him to have more time and do see potential issues- nothing to do with hysteria.

There's plenty of hysteria, some people are trying their hardest to out angry others all over social media and some posts on here are just strange.

Mark Robins was more than a manager to Coventry City fans. He was family.

Driving to St George’s Park yesterday for the England squad announcement, I received a call from a distraught Coventry City-supporting friend.

'They didn’t judge Robins solely on results, which certainly haven’t been good enough this season, especially with King’s investment.'

This annoys me, it's not really King's investment is it?! It was Robins that turned £1m x2 into £15m and £20m. King's just decided how to spent it.

I’ll be very interested to see what the new manager is allowed to spend put it that way.

And why would i look at a different department? what happens on the pitch is not "sports science"

You can have poor performances on the pitch while having a brilliant sports science team, the sports science performance and the football operations performance are not mutually inclusive.

Oh that’s ok then. So it’s absolutely great but also totally and utterly pointless.

He’s jacked it in since King come in and stripped him of his lanyard and access to the players but yesterday’s news has just made him Anti-CCFC as a whole saying he’ll be attending games where or if MR takes over another club

This decision by Doug King has echos of Sam Longson sacking Brian Clough at Derby County.
Longson hated being eclipsed by Clough in the media.
Is Doug King another man who can’t stand being in the shadow of the manager?

True. But there are also plenty of people who are looking at things entirely rationally, and see this as a decision that carries huge risks for the club.

Does King have a proper top coach waiting in the wings, or is he about to interview a bunch of unproven hopefuls?
