I don't understand this at all. You're saying there's a 'good' way to sack someone? I'm all ears. Turning on fans and questioning their morals for daring to have an opinion that differs from yours is a slippery slope.

I'm saying he deserved more time how can fans turn their back on the bloke he turned us around and gave us everything ??
If I think that means you're a morally bankrupt fart then that's what I think , I slide down the slope naked I don't care

You started the day by predicting us as relegation candidates - that kind of post never helps the cause of the manager. So those words feel kind of hollow.

I agree. Flip flopping between making out Christmas was right then an avalanche of posts saying how we’re going down. Never a clear position.

Not happy at all here but as you know i've thought its the right thing for a while, which is an opinion that is rather unpopular with most. Again i'm finding a lot of this hysterical and emotional, it's football, we've been poor. We go on long runs where we are very poor almost as habit. I don't think he'd have survived this long if he wasn't Robins.
Will Doug make the correct pick for new manager?.. now there i have no idea. We should all hope so though surely?

I'd say 99% of Cov fans are gutted and the majority of fans from other clubs are surprised.

There's still the odd one or two, inc some on here, who see this as a good thing.

As an aside, just seen Tom Grennan has replied to the CCFC insta post of the sacking calling it a shambles.

I think most fans will always be pretty sad at how robins was let go , many fans still talk about Eric black who did very little for the club as a manager

but he hasn't been given more time. Turning on other fans who can accept and understand the decision isn't going to change anything for anyone. Morals? He'll be getting paid seven figures, I expect. He's not been sent to the gulag.

Do you seriously believe that King has sacked Robins because he had a scroll through here? Even though all the polls had a vast majority of people saying Robisn should say and ‘Mark Robins Sky Blue Army’ and ‘there is only one Mark Robins’ get sung at every game?

Wow just found out moments ago. This seems like a knee jerk reaction but something tells me it was planned. Robin's has not looked happy of late and the team has been playing so in and out of form that it suggested that behind the scenes something was not quite right.
We questioned the departure of Adi Vivash and appointment of a coaching team. But it's become clear that Robin's had his authority circumvented and his abiity to manage the club was subject to accepting the 5 year plan and changes to the structure. Looking back on one or two past interviews you can see the frustration from Robins even though he agreed to buy into it. He lost control of the scouting and player targets. he said himself he had nothing to do with it. The 'team' would bring him a target and he would have his say. So authority and everything emminating from it was undermined. That transfers through the club, the players and ultimately they are not 'playing' for Robins anymore. Why did he stay? Because he had brought us all the way, and bar a penalty kick had us in the premier league. He would have wanted to finish the job and test himself in the big time.
I think this is a huge mistake by Doug King. Robin's has legendary status and to disrespect the guy by sacking him is a disgrace. At least say it was by mutual consent and let Robin's leave on his own valition.
For King he has made a massive statement. He can only go forward with his new structure for success if he appoints a new coach who has a bit of reputation and can hit the ground running. He has gambled. Robin's clearly had the ability to turn it around.
Last night against Derby it was if something was wrong. Well now we know. The players knew this was about to happen.
King has made his statement loud and clear, and must stand by it. It's all on him now.
I'd like to thank Robin's for a brilliant 7 years against the most difficult back drop. He was magnificent. He would have got us to the playoff''s this season I'm sure of it, but King has had something in mind all along I would suggest. Not giving Robin's time till at least January suggest results are not the key decision here, but about King's impatience to finalise his 'structural' plans. Time will tell how that develops, and appointing the right guy to work within that structure is crucial.
Perhaps King should reflect and understand we are not Man City and the championship is all about managers and relationships built with players. We had that with Robin's and Vivash and it served us brilliantly until King drastically changed it and has compounded it today.
It leaves us all bewildered as to who fills that role King has created?

I support our club regardless of who runs it or who’s the manager, but you can’t deny his departure marks the end of us being unique among most in the EFL. Hopefully we can push on and achieve what he couldn’t, I have my doubts.

It not about fans who accept it , it's about the fans who wanted it .

Let's face it robins was given little wiggle room by a few on here this season, I question how long these same people will give a new man .. including you

So it's happened , how do you assess the robins era after all ?

I have always said Robins is a very odd manager in that he seems to work best under an unstable and difficult ownership base.

He seems better at motivating and galvanising players who are not established at the level they are used to operating in and a "all together mentality"

The players now have left. He clearly is struggling to galvanise the signings over the last two years. A lot has been spent on players who cannot even get in the team and very few will realise the purchase value at resale let alone make more to spend on new recruits.

Its pretty obvious he has run his course and the ideas are becoming less. I suspect he worked better with a lower league set up and cannot adjust to modern football models.

Timing is odd, statement not that respectful but such is football.

you were saying you don’t see how we can get enough points to stay up.

Anyway it’s done, people have got what they wanted, for me he goes down as up there with our best ever managers, and the way this has been done is pretty disgraceful. That’s my view.

Playing like this no I don’t. I’ve also said the responsibility for it is shared between players, manager and owner.

Do feel free to point out where I called for the manager’s head though. I hold these players more responsible but they can’t be sacked.

re: The Fans Forum with Doug next week.
Why did Viveash leave, and was Robins consulted / involved in that decision?
Was Robins involved with new coaches recruitment process?

I think the "Real" answers to those questions above will tell us a lot.

Bottom Line - We've been poor this season, and the sprouts of hope gained after the Oxford and Tottenham games, and the recent 2 match winning run have been followed up by very poor results and performances.

I'm sad he's gone, but I can also understand it based on results this season. If Robins was blindsided by Adi leaving and the new coaching setup then I have less sympathy for the decison.

I wouldn't of thought that less than 9% who voted for MR to be sacked on the BS poll, would influence DK.

The fans in the stadium were behind MR even though they were unhappy with the performances.
